    Hi

I'm somewhat new to the blackberry 10 os and the z10 but a long time blackberry owner. I was issued a z10 at work a few months ago and I liked it so much i decided to get one as my personal phone to replace my bold 9900.

Anyway I had a blackberry unlock code calculator which I used on my bold however my hard drive died and I didn't have it backed up. Is there anyone who knows where I could find the calculator to unlock my new z10? I've done some searching but didn't find anything.

Sorry if there is an obvious answer to this...

    Welcome to CrackBerry!

I haven't come across a BlackBerry 10 unlocking code calculator but would be interested if you manage to get one.

It cost $15 to $36 to unlock a BlackBerry 10 through the link below:-

You can always call your carrier and ask for an unlock code if so inclined. It's quick and free.
There may be certain criteria such as length of time with the carrier and/or device, an account in good standing, or if you will be traveling outside of your country and using local SIM cards.
I had no problem having a code sent to me in 24 hours from T-Mobile USA.

    Good Luck!

It's not always free, it's $50 on rogers in canada.
There is no code generator for bb10, and to be honest, the one for legacy didn't always work anyways.

Yup. Rogers wants $50 and threatens to void warranty if not unlocked with their service.

Great info everyone! Much appreciated! I should have mentioned that the Z10 I have is locked to Bell but I'm going to use it on another carrier. Not a fan of Bell's service being an ex customer and would rather spend money unlocking it via somewhere online. Does anyone have any advice as to what online service to use for unlock codes?

FYI, Bell charges $50 for the unlock code.

Yeah, Someone already mentioned that there are costs in Canada. Bummer.
I had no idea the OP was in America's Hat or on Bell as his profile is not updated listing any carrier or country.

Sorry my fault. I just created this account, I'll have to update my profile. I'm from BC Canada, the phone is locked to Bell Mobility and my current provider is Mobilicity.

I have AT&T and I called today to get the unlock code for my Z10 because I will be going out of the country. The guy from the International desk said he didn't know the code that I would need to go to the website. I told him I tried it but it said I was not eligible since I was still under contract. He said he could not help me and they have international plans i could sign up for. So i purchased unlock code online

I've used www.blackberrycodesource.com to unlock two Z10s and one Q10 successfully. Currently they charge $29.99 CAD to unlock a Z10 from Bell.

These CSRs drive me crazy! They know nothing!
So similar to the T-Mobile BlackBerry trade in offer.
It's not the CSR that is supposed to "know" the code.
They are supposed to transfer you to a secondary "technical" department that sends the code and instructions to you via email within 24-48 hours.

However, I do not know the policy stipulations so you may not be eligible for the "on contract" reason. IDK.
But I do personally know some people on "A Fee & Fee" that received free unlock codes by simply stating they were traveling out of the country.
Sounds like they were just up-selling for more revenue.

Yeah I have read in the forums where some people got an AT&T rep to give them an unlock code. In the past I have had success with the International desk in getting the code. So I just used Cellunlock.net. A little pricy but in about 2 hrs I had the code. They sent MEP2 and MEP4 code.

    Update:

First off, thanks for your help with suggestions for unlocking my BlackBerry. Much appreciated!

I did have some trouble unlocking and I'd like to take this opportunity to review the excellent customer service that the people from www.quickphoneunlock.com (QPU).They really helped me out with the whole process and we're very quick!

    Here's my story;

I bought this device brand new and sealed off craigslist and I was told it was locked to bell. I tried one of the websites that was recommended here for an unlock code and they promptly replied with a message that indicated that they couldn't unlock it with no other explanation and they issued me a refund. This raised a few red flags but I just decided to try another site.

That's when I got in touch with (QPU) and purchased an unlocking code for my z10 based on the info provided by the seller. They promptly got back to me and said that it wasn't locked to bell. I confirmed the imei, model and PRD which I thought was a Bell PRD number based on what I read online. They tried again to get the unlocking code but no luck. They offered to try the blackberry server for the code and still nothing. They were fast, courteous and patient with me which was a plus for sure. (this happened over the course of about 2 days)

Finally I called up Bell who put me on hold and called BlackBerry and after an hour or so told me that the device was in fact not locked to bell, but to Emitac Wireless. Bell had no idea where this company was from or that it even existed. I thought I was totally screwed at this time but I figured I'd get in touch with Quick Phone to ask if they knew. To my surprise they said no problem but I'd have to resubmit the order and change the carrier. They promptly issued me a refund for the first order. I resubmitted the order and a few hours later they sent me an unlock code and now I'm typing this from my brand new z10!

They're a great company and I'd recommend their services time and time again!

I called AT&T last month to ask about getting the unlock code for my Q10. I received it via email in less than 24 hours. I have never had a problem getting the unlock codes for any of my BlackBerry devices from AT&T while under contract . It does help if you have a history being a long term AT&T customer.

Bob I have been with AT&T going back to before they merged with Cingular. The Rep from the International desk said they were very controlling concerning unlocking phones. Unless I had met my 2 yr contract or was willing to pay for early termination I could not unlock it. That is when I turned to a third party site.

I have been with AT&T since 1991, so like you, for a considerable length of time. Whenever I have called AT&T to get the unlock code for my BlackBerry devices I get transferred to a Tech Specialist. I have never gone through the International reps. In addition, still being under contract was never an issue and I've never been asked to pay an early termination fee. In some instances they have provided the unlock code over the phone...other times I receive it via email within 24 hours.

EDIT: Perhaps AT&T has flagged your account rcab...duuno?? I have read your posts about the FCC complaints you have filed as well as demanding $100.00 credits for not pushing out OS 10.2. AT&T probably feels you can use that money to purchase the unlock code...just a thought.

    Bob --

That was both rude and presumptuous. I've also been a long-term AT&T customer, and when I called to have my z10 unlocked (and mind, they've unlocked every previous phone I've had before this one without problem/concern -- I work abroad a lot) five days ago, they told me they had new policies:

    1. Unlocks can only be requested from the website https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=wz1gzGu6

    2. Only phones that are not under contract can be unlocked, unless you wish to pay an early termination fee; so I can't unlock my bb with them until July 2015.

Not sure if this is related to their new International Calling Plans (which are, as one would expect, highway robbery -- $2/minute for in-country calls!!!), but I had a devil of a time even getting anyone on the phone to help when the online form wouldn't even recognize my IMEI number. They eventually opened up a case for my phone to try to resolve the issue, but ultimately declined to unlock it for the reason cited above -- my contract isn't up yet.

So clearly this is now AT&T's approach -- and has nothing to do with anyone's account being "flagged."

I've also just tried a QPU code, but it's not working; let's see if they can help by email. I'm not really inclined to buy a new phone once I arrive in-country in a few days, but I'm certainly not going to pay $2/minute to make in-country calls anywhere. That's disgusting.
