Well, the phone does not contain any IR (infrared) transmitter which is the most common form of Remote Control system. Whether there's some bluetooth or wifi system and interface, I'm not sure.

My old HP Palmtop had IR transmitter and it was fun, sometimes changing channels at someone's home or public location and no one could figure out how it was done!

I use the android version of iRule (www.iruleathome.com). I use an ipod touch as my living room remote, but there is no IR interface from my BB10 phone (or the ipod) so depending on whether your TV is IP addressable and controllable (2013 LGs are not, even the smart TVs!) you might need additional hardware such as an IP to IR device (I use a global Cache device for the TV and the cable box as neither can be controlled through IP/network).

It works pretty well, but there is a cost associated to the iRule license and the global cache device.
