Yep, unfortunately that's one of the ones that is confirmed to suffer from the issue.

The good news is, OS 10.1 (now shipping on Q10 and scheduled for Z10 availability in the next few weeks depending on carrier) seems to mostly fix the issue, and some carrier updates prior to 10.1 have also fixed the issue. (ie 10.0.10.116 on AT&T in the USA)

Also the various 10.1 "leaked" versions of the OS have those fixes, but personally I avoid installing unsupported firmware on my devices.

I can confirm that the leaked 10.1 I'm using doesn't fix it.

Which OS version on the leak? I have heard that .1627 does in fact fix the outgoing SMTP issue.

This protocol malfunction is forcing me to use my computer to send an email I needed to send and its actually a thread that I would like to continue participating while mobile; which is the reason I have this Q10. Yo, I'm in on the verge of distress if anybody as any remedies, get at me; it would be greatly appreciated.

I am getting this on both my wife and I's Z10's tonight (Bell on latest software)
Doesn't matter what accounts. Cannot send, only receive regardless of connection to wireless or mobile networks.

There are BlackBerry knowledgebase articles on this - as I recall some of the common culprits are large attachments not supported by the sending system and/or certain user auth issues.

I'll try to look them up when I'm using a regular computer...

I fixed my problem by switching the phone off and on.

Unfortunately, I think this phone has removed all the things that were good about the Blackberry and in the process of trying to become a smart phone has become stupid.

I would frisbee it if I wasn't linked to a plan - unless someone out there wants to buy a 3 week old phone??

Are you trying to send messages with large file attachments?

I assume your software release version is 10.1.0.4181, not 10.1.0.418, correct? (If so, that would mean OS version 10.1.0.4633.)

If so, I would surmise that either there is an Outlook.com issue (Hotmail is the same as Outlook.com and Live.com now) or you have dicey internet service wherever you were when you were trying to send those emails. (FWIW: "Dicey" can be just "dicey to some parts of the internet" - ie you might have good connectivity to Google but your carrier or whoever your WiFi is linked to might be having traffic routing issues to Outlook.com)

Were you using carrier data at the point of the problem or WiFi? Which carrier? Rogers?
