Sorry guys/gals I've tried searching, but all that come up are from the older devices.

Is anyone else having problems with receiving notifications of new tweets in the hub?

bbm, email, texts...etc, all notifiy me when I get something new, but twitter doesn't. The only time I get notified is if someone direct messages me or mentions me.
The only way I know I have new tweets is by launching the twitter app itself. I've tried checking the settings in the twitter app, but it doesn't really have anything.

Any one else having this issue?

Yes second that here. What's a bit inconvenient as well is that links opened in Twitter open the web browser and not a browser in Twitter like on the iPhone.

Nope, you're not alone, I've got exactly the same issue. I've tried deleting my Twitter accountonthe Z10 and reinstating it but nothing.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

From reading this - About the BlackBerry Hub - How To - BlackBerry Z10 Smartphone - 10.0.0

It appears it is only direct messages / mentions etc. that show up! Crazy!

Snazy - What keeps showing up? the notification you got a new tweet? or the mentions/direct msgs?

ofelasuk - I truly hope that is not the case.

Don't have my device yet. But if I'm following correctly this is how I'd hope it worked. I wouldn't want each new tweet in my Hub...that"ll be hundreds a day! Direct Messages, mentions, new followers is fine for the hub though.

Same. The twitter app is lacking any real settings at the moment so I can't even choose to have my feed update at regular intervals. That may be part of the problem here. The direct messages are probably handled by push.

Wait, what?? People want notifications of new tweets? That doesn't make sense considering most people get 10 tweets or more/hour. I've never seen that option in other platforms either. My iOS device and Nexus 4 both only have options to notify when I get mentioned or get a direct message...

Some people don't follow many and have far fewer tweets per hour. Basically it would be nice to have the option. It would indeed be a bad thing to force it though for a lot of people.

Exactly. I only follow a few people, and if I remember correctly my old 9900 use to give me notifications when there were a few new tweets available.

From the responses I've been reading, I guess it's not just me that's having this issue... seems like it's the twitter app's lack of settings

Twitter wrote the native app many have said, its barebones for now. I do miss the OS 7 app, or rather the ones that Blackberry had written. Surprised more aren't decrying multiple accounts.

anyways I'm sure the features will come, I guess it would be nice if you dont have many tweets to follow and they are in the hub,

But I feel Tweets are just like the Facebook news feed- and thats too much for my hub!

I believe the issue is that you used to have a star with the Twitter symbol to signalise new direct messages or mentions. They're missing. Maybe it's intended. Maybe not. Or did I got that one wrong OP?

Yeah I would prefer Blackberry made it. Their apps are almost always better than when the other companies do it themselves lol

Have you guys tried Ubersocial? I prefer that over T4BB. I do have both running on my Torch right now.

I know that. I'm just suggesting try another twitter app to see if you get notifications in the BB hub.

Yes but it comes under the notifications section insteadof the dedicated Twitter section :-(

Sorry for the late reply, the notification of a direct message or mention. If I delete them, they are back within the hour. So there are all just left in the hub, read now.

Yup, that's exactly the case for me, unified inbox would get a new tweet notification, then I could check what was new. I use it for work, so it's very helpful to have info in the inbox.
I guess the issue is that the whole joy of the hub as demonstrated at the launch is that notifications in the hub do NOT open the app, and getting a notification of new tweets would require the hub to open an app...which its designed not to.

Yes I think you've hit the nail on the head there. They'll just have to make the hub a twitter client in its own right then ;-)

Would be nice to have some used customisation allowed. If you want the s style notification that launches Twitter, it shouldn't be a big deal.

In reality I would like to see that, or a decent social feeds return.

The Hub is a great thing, but the unified inbox of OS7 and before worked for me.

We all use our berry's in different ways, and for the socialiser having feeds in one place is a must.
