This may sound really odd but since I got the phone I've been having ok battery life. None of the horror stories I keep reading here. Def nothing worse than my previous iPhone.

However I recently charged my phone a few times with my normal iPhone charger because I lost my BlackBerry one. The phone holds a charge much longer now. Not saying it's going to last a few days or anything.

Worth trying out if you have one lying around

    Cheers

Yeah unless I'm totally missing something the iphone has a proprietary input. You wouldn't be able to use it with the Z10 or any other non apple device.

I've tried this once when I didn't have my charger with me. I don't know if the phone actually held a charge longer, but it definitely charged very quickly. Just remove the USB and replace it with one with a micro-USB on the end.

I've been doing that since day one. It's no magic. And your battery doesn't last longer. It does charge faster because it's 1A, while the Zed's charger is 750mA.

I found it to be perfect. Shipped charger was just too slow, PlayBook's is an overkill on the long run with 1.8A.

Very true I didn't say it was magic mate maybe my thoughts on holding A charge longer might be because when I top up it chargers faster so maybe you're right

I also think it's much more more able than the PlayBook charger

Perhaps because it charges faster you've left it on a saturation charge for longer? The actual energy in the battery isn't 100% when the battery just reaches 100%. You get more battery life if you leave it on the charge for awhile after it has reached 100.

    I have a charger that's rated at 5v -- 1000ma (1A) and I presume it's OK to use on the Z10?

Oh, ok. Well, I still use chargers from before BlackBerry switched to the usb chargers(mine all still work), so the iPhone idea seemed strange.

Use a charger that's anything more than our 750 and it will charge faster. But this isn't news or am I missing something?

Battery degrades faster if you continue to charge up to 100%. Meaning, your charging cycles are shortened, and would mean you'd have to replace the battery sooner.

If you continually charge below 95% you are only recycling and using 95% of the battery, so the other percentage is left un touched.
