Battery degrades faster if you continue to charge up to 100%. Meaning, your charging cycles are shortened, and would mean you'd have to replace the battery sooner.

If you continually charge below 95% you are only recycling and using 95% of the battery, so the other percentage is left un touched.

Ditto, on the "ummm No" comment....The statement referencing against full charging (or reading thereto) is a bit misleading with regard to the Z (and most other) smart phone battery technology in use today.

Thanks for the free plug for Apple.

I use the stock charger when I'm not in a hurry for a full charge, my PB charger if I need a quick charge.

Ummm no. Not with a lithium battery.

NiCad yes, lithium no. Besides, the phone prevents overcharging.

Umm...yes. This was a feature that my Sony vaio duo had.

It's not overcharging that causes the problem. The battery stops charging when it is at 100%, but you are now using and recycling all the ions. If you charge it below 95 % or even 60%, you still have 5% or 40% of un touched ions.

Have a read. Seems like you guys are all know it alls. So you guys are wrong and I'm right.

    I read in that post:
Similar to a mechanical device that wears out faster with heavy use, so also does the depth of discharge (DoD) determine the cycle count. The shorter the discharge (low DoD), the longer the battery will last. If at all possible, avoid full discharges and charge the battery more often between uses. Partial discharge on Li-ion is fine; there is no memory and the battery does not need periodic full discharge cycles to prolong life, other than to calibrate the fuel gauge on a smart battery once in a while. Read more about Battery Calibration.
Unless I miss read your post, is it better to not let the battery drain too far?

I never drain it that far. Never have done this in the past and I have never encountered poor battery charge cycles.
