If it is a domain account: domain\username.
    If it's not a domain account: machinename\username.

From PC to phone try pin code.

    You set those under:
    SETTINGS/Storage and Access
    - change Wifi storage password
    - identification on network

Ok a second prompt came up stating enter network password with ( machinename\username ) already inserted , everytime I input my password it doesnt accept and keeps stating access denied at the bottom , i tried it with the default administrator account and it gives the same response
do I need to enable some sort of sharing or permissions on the phone

You have to set it yourself on the Z10. Open the settings app and then open Storage and Access. You set the username under "Identification on Network" and you set the password under "Change Wi-Fi Storage Password".

If I can't get this working I will resort to that and see if that works

You can find or change the user name by clicking the Identification on Network button.

Whoops, looks like someone beat me to it.
