Thanks. These tips have been posted a hundred times before in various threads. I so hope that people with battery issues start reading before posting.

You seem to have an almost linear drop, usually it points to something wrong in the core os. Restore can help.

When you get a result like that, click on the cpu tab at the top of Device Monitor, next to the Battery tab and see what it shows running.

    * note that the BlackBerry browser is a battery hogger!! So if you were using the browser continuously for those 42 mins..I am 90 percent sure that's the reason. 7.2 percent battery consumption in 42 mins!!..thats definitely the culprit here.

If you tend to watch a lot of YouTube videos on the BlackBerry browser..try and use an app instead like "Fast Tube".

You also try a couple of things below (although I am sure its the browser usage that is causing fast battery drain)..:

    1. Do a hard reset (press and hold up/down volume keys until you see the BlackBerry logo)

    2. Go to application permissions in settings and make sure all apps are only using permissions that are needed. For example "device identification information" is not needed..

I downloaded an android app called Battery Doctor. What I found out was that several android apps suddenly started running in the background.

I suspect that these drain a lot.

Within the app, go to Rank, press the unwanted apps and force quit.

Just found out, so I can't guarantee anything.

Not sure this can even be done. Can one turn off device monitor which runs in the background? I would rather have a longer battery life that something that keeps telling me what is causing the shorter battery life.
