Blackberry assistant keeps telling me it's running. I'm thinking it has something to do with the assistant and yesterday when I did a random battery pull my time and date got reset to an earlier time and date.

So, timer won't reset and the options, stop, and reset buttons on clock face are grayed out. No blue dot on edge of face to adjust the time.

    Battery pull
    Turned off via power button
    Volume reset
    Reset via power button

Nothing worked. Ideas?? I really don't want to reload the os. Thx.

Why did you do a 'random battery pull'?

Battery pulls were only necessary for locked up BBOS phones.

As per previous post use an autoloader to restore the OS, don't forget to backup first though!

In future I suggest you shut the phone down properly before pulling the battery, lots of people will tell you battery pulls are fine but why would you risk it?

Maybe no one else has had this problem, so no one has an answer?

In having this phone for almost 2 years, I've learned that battery pulls are still necessary.

Thx. That's not what it was hoping for but I guess there's no alternative.

I had this happen to me where my battery died as I had the timer running. Tried everything that didn't require re-installing the OS (which is a dumb reason to do for this reason IMO) but it went back to zero a couple weeks later. Don't know how but it did.

    Really?

There must be more wrong with your phone than the timer then.

Nope, but, if you honestly think I'm going to believe you never turn off your device, you're greatly mistaken.

Turning your device off is different from a battery pull!

When did I say I never turn my phone off?

Check out the order, you did a battery pull first in your OP, are you saying this is not the case now?

You can read what I wrote and I remember what it was. No need to re-address it.

You see powering down and battery pulls as different processes - I don't. Let's move on. Thanks for your assistance. Have a great day/night/afternoon.
