Long time forum reader. Had BBs back with the 8800 world phone and up through bold 9900.

Was able to get a Z10 at launch and initially liked it but ended up moving to IOS for the app selection and other reasons. Phone was somewhat laggy back then but was mainly software issues.

Fast forward to this week. I got a new job that gave me a company phone. The problem was it was a different US carrier so my GSM iPhone 5S would not be compatible with the CDMA network fully. So I figured I would sell the 5S and get a cheaper phone that I would use for business. After having a RAZR M from the company I couldn't stand it. Bought a like new Z10 and installed 10.2. Wow has the phone grown up. Super fast just like IOS. Way better keyboard and the app selection with side loading is enough. Overall I'm happy with the phone for the price of $190 USD.

Good to be back in Black.

That's what I hear. I hope BlackBerry keeps making devices. They don't need to be the leader. They just need to be a niche and make money of course.

I'm 100 percent with you, but the app gap is far from closed right now. It's bridged for the advanced users, but until granny can buy a z10 with Google play or equivalent, it's not just closed yet.

What I'm getting at is, average Joe doesn't know what an apk is. That's still hurting the brand.

You bring up something that I've been wondering. Let's say BlackBerry World ported every Android app natively into its store, do you really think that would solve the problem? I think it's much deeper than that. People outside the tech world want and iPhone or a galaxy/DROID. That's it. Nobody wants a blackberry. Back in 2009 blackberry was cool because it had an exclusivity feel to it. It felt like you had a phone better than anyone else. I would argue it will take real celebrity appeal(not purchased) to have the young and upcoming masses to desire a brand, an image not a "business phone"

It goes in cycles. Eventually, iOS and Android will get played out, because something new came up.

Not having instagram is what buried the BB10 from the get go. The one app people wouldn't want to live without, they failed to connect on.

    I ran 10.0 since I bought a Z10 for almost a year, quite pleased with 10.2 also!

I agree with the cycles argument. Not so sure instagram singlehandedly killed the z10. I bet the BlackBerry Storm debacle killed the z10 long before.
