The title is pretty clear. I love the Z10 but for me the availability of a solid keyboard is something unique. I wanted to know the major differences between the 2 phones, in terms of apps, user experience and so on

Thanks in advance for any help

-App availability will always be better on the z10. Generally not a huge deal as most will hit the Q10 eventually, but this will always be the case.
-You will miss the Z10 screen.
-Gaming and web browsing are much better on the Z10, still good on the Q10 but you have to pan more. Video is no contest, Z10 all the way.

Keyboard on the Q10 is the only real factor. If that is your highest priority then the Q10 is fine. Otherwise stick with the Z10 as you have to make sacrifices for the Q10.

Battery life is a huge difference for me as I came from the Z10 to the Q. Other than that I agree with your points.

Please post again which phone you like best. And whether or not the trade offs were worth it. I'm considering getting a Q10 myself

Youre gonna want to try out the Q10 for a while before you decide for sure. Did you put it through its paces in the store already? I was determined to switch when the Q10 became available, but as it stands after I tried the Q10 for a bit, Im actually more comfortable with the Z10. I use mine for work almost exclusively. I write reports, make bids, and the usual emails from clients. Im saying the Z10 for me is the better communication device. I'll just throw in that I also have a Note 2 which I use to take and show pictures. The large screen is convenient for some of my clients. Truthfully I don't use it very much as I prefer the Z10. One more thing, I did use the new 360 app for taking panoramic pictures on my Z10, the results were outstanding for my purposes. I mention that in case taking pics on the Q10 is one of your priorities.

Honestly the Q10 keyboard isn't even that special after going through the Z10. It felt awkward and I can guarantee you 100% that you'd type faster on the Z anyway.

Yep, the Q10 battery life is alot better. It's to be expected with a smaller screen + larger battery though.

In the end I think I like the Z10 better. BB10 is heavily touch interface and the Z10 feels more natural. But the Q10 battery life + keyboard is great.

It requires a reverse learning process. I've been using virtual keyboard for the last year+ and you have to re-learn to get fast at a physical (same happens with the virutal keyboard switch).

it is still great once you re-learn...

Have both. At first I couldn't decide which to use, back and forth. Now, most definitely the Q. Form factor, keyboard, battery life, are deciding factors for me. I use an ipad when reading, so screen real estate is not as important to me, but if I didn't have the ipad, I'd be more likely to stick with the Z.

I think i was high when i made this thread - Z all the way indeed! A virtual keyboard of this caliber is an excellent alternative for the physical. Plus the screen, apps, etc.

I have both the Z and the Q. Somehow I prefer the Q as it feels more "professional".

I have used mainly Android phones with touchscreens for the last couple of years and I simply love the keyboard of the Q.

I have both. Been using the Q for a week. Love it but I can actually type faster on the Z than the Q. I was shocked but the keyboard on the Z is just phenomenal! I am actually returning the Q this week.
