Been a BlackBerry user since the 7100t. I was the first person in my area to have the Z10 (I was waiting before my local T-Mo store opened), I was the 1st person to get T-Mo to confirm Z10 launch date (check the post), I have a BlackBerry tattoo...but I think the time has come for me, to paraphrase Ms. Keys said flirt with other OS'.

I'm becoming less pleased with my Z10 as the days go buy. It's running the stock version of the current T-Mobile OS. I'm tired of buggy Instagram, & Snapchat, no Wells Fargo app (I get paid about 3x a week by check would be nice to not have to make so many bank trips), also lately I have been having a hard time receiving, and sending messages, amongst a few other things.

Anyway to wrap this up, has anyone switched to iPhone and enjoyed it? Switched and not switched back? I'm hesitant b/c of my reliance on BlackBerry Hub, is there anything comparable? Not looking to get flamed, just looking for some feedback from switchers. Thanks all!

Why don't you upgrade to the 10.2.1.1055 leak and install the apps you want like Wells Fargo?

I did and for Ally Bank and Mint.com apps I had been sorely lacking.

Don't let T-mobile's OS release schedule stand in the way of you enjoying your phone.

Honestly, I'm not much on tinkering with OS' these days. Back in the BB OS days, I would download and install leaks like it was going out of style (the jump to 5.0 was a particular favorite). I just want my phone to be able to do things no fuss. I think I've tried messing around with leaks on 10, but I have a Mac.

Ha, Im thinking of going the other way. I have an Iphone but when Blackberry dropped the price of the z10 to 200.00 on promotion had to give it a try. Im a BB user from way back before they even had phones. Finally left them when the Iphone came out and been with Iphone ever since. Always liked blackberry though and now with the ability to load android apps had to give it a try

It is a personal choice based on your needs and preferences . Had an iphone before my z10. Both are good phones.

Don't know if there is apps for the iPhone to emulate the hub. Someone else could answer on this or you can check with a friend that own the apple phone.

I don't think that I would survive without my hub and keyboard. It is up to you. Damn apps. Html5 is the future. Even the Montreal transport service has now html5 website for subway service status.

For the tattoo he can just draw an apple on the BlackBerry logo

Consider install the leak as suggested before. 10.2 is a nice experience.

I personally have never installed a leak. I got 10.2.1.1055 because I am on BlackBerry's BETA program. So you would be really safe installing this version as it is the same one BlackBerry is pushing out to testers and it works great.

It would be a shame for you to drop the platform when a pending OS update could address some of your issues/concerns. Especially when you can safely install twj BETA for it right now.

The latest leak offers several enhancements and new features that are really impressive.

You should give it a try before making any decisions.

The forums are abound with speculation from some and insight from others on yet additional add-ons and features on the next round of releases. I am hooked what can I say. Have been a berry user since 2002 and regular adoption of leaks since my storm days.

The one issue I have with the Iphone now is the last major update made the Iphone 4 and 4s super slow and buggy. I have never been more frustrated in my life. So many Issues Ive seen with this last update between friends and my wife and I. Something to kep in mind...

Just pointing out that leaks are straight from BlackBerry too. Nobody else can compile or sign these OS, therefore nobody can modify or tinker in it, except for BAR apps which are also signed (native ones, that it).

And as far as I know, if your version number isn't different, you got the same 10.2.1.1055 version as any of us leak-users.

OP: installing this leak, or if you prefer, this internal OS version that will probably never be released, is really easy. My brother knows nothing about this and is on the other side of the planet, and I could tell him how to do it in an email with like 10 lines. No fuss at all.

I just upgraded to a Z30 from an iPhone 5 and wish I had tried BB10 sooner. Apps are nice, but not so important to me as the communication and true multi-tasking features BlackBerry offers. I think you might like an iPhone for a while, but as someone who has extensively used all 4 major platforms, I can tell you there really is no adequate substitute for BB10.

I would seriously recommend that you do tinker, I'm a serial tinkerer but didn't do it for a while. I did it 3 days ago and wow! Installing android apps is a breeze now, no sideloading, just download and install apk's, there is no app limitation now, and for the most part the one's I've installed on my Q10 work really well, considering they're not made for small screens like that, so I guess they should do you justice then. I'm enjoying the Android experience so much on my Q10 I'm considering dropping my S3 for a Z30 so I can still enjoy the Android side of life!

I have iPhone and BlackBerry, in fact I have been a blackberry user for long since my first 9000. I have had iPhone since 3G too. The differences I feel is

    IPhone

    1. Simple UI although a bit stagnant, iOS 7 is a fresh change.

    2. Typing is a hit or miss. I'm good on iPhone keypad while my friends have major typos.

    3. Email on iPhone is possible but it's a joke.

    4. App collection is superb. Everything and everyone has an app for iPhone.

    5. Everything works

    6. Screen kinda small but one hand operation is amazing.

    7. Excellent camera.

    8. The feel factor and build quality is excellent.

    9. iMessage and face time and now air drop.

    10. Here in India, iPhone sells at a premium and the resale is very good.

    BlackBerry 10

    1. Typing machine with the most amazing on screen keyboard

    2. Bbm, it's multi platform but bbm channels video audio still pwns.

    3. Email leader. I have 8 email accounts and everything is uncluttered and works well.

    4. Excellent network and reception. My iPhone drops calls and hangs on call screen when there is rapid switching between wifi and 3G.

    5. Crackberry community

    6. Android apps even though its a hit or miss.

    7. Multi color Notification light, droids also have it now.

    8. Optimum screen size with z10 not too big like galaxy note series not too small either. One handed use.

    9. Lack of apps is a big downer. But I'm sure the app world will catch up soon enough.

    10. Great build quality, not all metal and glass like iPhone but not cheap as Samsung.

    11. Pathetic resale.

I'd say u would be happy with the iPhone since you are looking for apps, but things like hub and the keyboard will be missed. Btw there is no jailbreak for Ios7, so no tweaks and all.

I started out with BlackBerry as my first smartphone. Had the old Curve 8330 and switched to IOS when the iPhone 4s first came out. Went from 4s to 5 to 5s and then tried a BlackBerry again. Tried the Z10 about the same time that ios7 came out. Hated ios7 and couldn't put the Z10 down! I will admit that I kept the iPhone for a little while until I got used to the Z10 a little more. About 4 weeks ago I bought a new 5s from Verizon. Used it for 3 days, boxed it up, listed it on eBay and sold it for $800. No more iPhone for me. I took part of the proceeds and ordered a BlackBerry PlayBook. Now I'm listing my iPad on eBay. My Z10 is running 10.2.1.1055 and is working flawlessly. No glitches, no freezing, no lag. This thing is absolutely awesome. I have loaded a few android apps to replace the ones I commonly used on ios but they don't even total 10 apps. I just don't use that many apps. For me, the Z10 is exactly what I need. A good solid work phone that handles all that I throw at it with ease. Thanks BlackBerry!!

    Swear from my heart.

Trust me. When you are using IOS, you can't stop thinking about BB.

I recently switched over from my Z10 (got it since day 1) to an iPhone 5 at the end of October, and then to an iPhone 5s four days after that. My reason for switching was for stable apps. Flame me all you want, but I wanted smooth running apps and I didn't want to run any third party app, and porting over Android apps did not always a smooth run. It was like a temporary satisfaction until you start feeling the dragginess of the Android app, and well, I like apps, and I use a lot of apps, and the Z10 just wasn't cutting it when I started feeling frustrated everytime I saw everyone using an app on their Android device or iPhone and I couldn't get it, and when I did, it just didn't feel "native"....I choose the iPhone because I knew that if there's a popular app out there, the iPhone WILL have it. And I had used an Android device before (got rid of my BB Torch for a Galaxy Nexus because I had to lock in the unlimited plan for Verizon back in the day), and I did NOT like Android O/S at all.

I'm the kind of person who wants everything to be solid, and being a tester for BB10 just wasn't cutting it for me. I found myself feeling like I did not have a solid phone because I always wanted the latest update/OS available (aka, the latest leak). And yes, you can say "You didn't have to install any leak", and you are right, I didn't have to, but I always wanted more stability, and that was the only way to get that.

So, here's my review of iOS and the iPhone. I've had it for a little over a month, and it was/is the FIRST iPhone I ever owned. Never had an iPhone before and never used one other than maybe borrowing someone's iPhone to talk to someone else.

When I first got the iPhone, I was happy that I was able to do/access/have everything that I wanted, that I previously couldn't on BB10. I did have an iPad during the time I owned the Z10 and prior simply because I wanted to use apps. But wasn't always sensible to carry around a phone and an iPad (and no, I didn't want the iPad mini). So now, to have all the apps I like and able to carry it around me and able to use it anytime anywhere was nice. So much that I stopped using my iPad completely. So I got rid of my iPad. It was the iPad 4, and after I got rid of it, I started missing having it around me when I'm in bed, watching tv, etc....so I'll be buying the iPad 5 soon (but that's another subject).

Immediately after I started using the iPhone, I noticed the email situation (vs. Blackberry HUB). I was able to set up my gmail accounts and exchange to where it became minimal distraction to access my emails. But, the HUB was NIIIIICE....nice to have ALL your messagings in one HUB. The screen is definitely nicer looking on the iPhone, and the camera is excellent.

OK, onto iMessage. I've learned to hate iMessaging...ThanXgivin' evening, while having dinner with my parents and friends, my buddy's phone went off, and he asked if I had just texted him. Nope, I didn't. It was a text that I had sent to him at 10:36AM about ThanXgivin dinner that night, and he received it at 8:30PM. My other buddy didn't get that text at all. Come Friday night, around 11:15PM, I got a text from my other buddy telling me he had just got my text about ThanXgivin' dinner...nice egh??? So I deactivated iMessage. I did, however, like the fact that with iMessage, I could respond to a thread of mass message from someone else, and the people who did NOT received the message as an MMS would start getting a thread on their phones after I send a response thru iMessage (this is the crappy thing about Android devices on Sprint. They do NOT receive mass MMS messages). In any case, I deactivated my iMessage....

One of the things I noticed when I first got the iPhone was the keyboard. I don't know what people are saying about it being a good keyboard, but it SUX. The iPhone keyboard SUX! And auto-correct SUX! I thought then, and I can confirm now that BB10 is THE BEST keyboard out there. When I first got the iPhone, I kept hitting the wrong keys and I kept hitting the delete button when I tried to press a key around the delete button. I don't know what kind of default programming iOS has to autocorrect to "DELETE" button, but that's stupid if it thinks I'm trying to press delete and autocorrect by deleting. I also thought maybe I was fat fingering the keys, and told myself to give it some time to get adapted and get better with it. That time never came. And still hasn't come. I hate how they put the ! and the ? next to each other and it seems ! is dominant over ?....I mean really???? Do people really use ! more than ? in a text??? I think not...and I hate the placement of the space bar and the fact that the letter B has priority of the space bar....I got accustomed to pressing the space bar on the BB after I finish typing to finalize or insert a replacement word or just to enter a "." after I finish a text, yet on the iPhone keyboard since the B is somehow dominant over the spacebar, most of my text would end with a letter "b"....I had to apologize to the females I texted to because NO, I DID NOT CALL YOU A B****....and the keyboard is so cramped that it's CRAMPED....

iOS finally got something similar to BB's word replacement/substitution, which is cool....funny how a lot of people who have been using iPhone for years did not know this feature or how to use it...and when I showed them, they were like WOW...and I told them, "Blackberry's had it for years...."

The screen on the iPhone is definitely great. It is very responsive, and I love the glass screen, which most phone manufacturers do not do anymore. I'm still impressed by the screen and it's clarity, and everything that has to do with display, I gotta give to iPhone....

For the past week, I've been contemplating giving up the iPhone for a phone with more real estate. The Z30 is the first on my list. However, due to the app situation, I may get an Android instead. I do miss the bigger screen and the fact that it's so much easier to type on a bigger screen. And I miss Blackberry, but I need the apps...

Oh yeah, I just remember one more thing I don't like about Apple. They are so proprietorial. And especially with automobile and cell phone compatibility. It seems like every automobile manufacturer tries to make everything in car to suit the iPhone. I understand it's one device, and it's popular, and they don't give a rats*** about Android since there are so many different devices you have to build cradles/adapters for. So, even with automobile manufacturers building their cars to suit the iPhone, they can't use the full function of the iPhone with their vehicles because Apple won't release the patent and let these manufacturer incorporate the phone to their car. They just barely allowed car manufacturers to build hardware to satisfy the iPhone 5 after over a year since it's release. And even then, you can't use full functions of the iPhone with the cars.....when I had my Z10, I was able to pull up all my text messages and emails in my car screen via Bluetooth. I was able to reply to text messages via speech-to-text in my car. And I would be able to pull up past messages and such. With the iPhone, you can't send speech-to-text messages. Why? Cuz Apple won't let you...Yet, all these car manufacturers are still focusing on building things for the Apple products....They have it made with Blackberry, but they won't advertised that their car system works flawless with BB and works like crap with iPhone....

Oh yeah, Siri is niiiiice....almost got her to go out on a date with me....Speech-to-text is great too on the iPhone (we're not on the subject of car infotainment center anymore). I think Android has the best speech-to-text of all the O/S' I've used. BB10 speech-to-text is THE WORST I've every used....

I'm VERY convinced that BB10 is THE BEST O/S out there. It's sad that they've fallen behind. I'm just waiting for that day when everything will be perfect again, and I believe Blackberry can do it again.

In any case, what the hell am I doing up writing this thing at 2:18AM...I'm sorry if you had read this. I'm sure most of it won't make sense. Please excuse my grammatical or spelling errors. My mind is half asleep....in any case, ta-ta
