You can purchase CompanionLink. But you have to load up a program called Deja Office and it syncs to that. Otherwise we're still waiting for BB Link to get upgraded. The chatter seems to indicate that should happen this month... We'll see?
cant happen soon enough
This is the biggest deal breaker for me as I live on Outlook as does my business and a cloud service like outlook.com won't do. I'm waiting for the Q10 anyway so maybe by then they will have it worked out. RIM / MS probably didn't have a clue how many people use a stand-alone Desktop Outlook (07/10/13) and the effect it would have on them--and that they love and depend on the old way of syncing with BB. Fingers are crossed for everyone in my position that the changes happen soon! Thinking good thoughts for all of us!
"Stand alone Outlook"
*shudder*

Why would you shudder-LOL? There are millions of small businesses, that run their business and personal life on Outlook 2007/2010/2013. Not everyone's business can be in a cloud type atmosphere. Some require security of files and must remain in house. I have a small business with several people on staff that all use Outlook as a stand-alone product. They use it for their calendars, contacts, email client and tasks. BB 7.1 and below syncs flawlessly with Outlook and allows our people to set appointments in the field or at night and sync to their desktop calendar or contacts at the office and vise-versa. In addition, there are a lot of other options that business people use like calendar invites and OneNote--all tied to outlook. So rather than bash or shudder, consider that their are many people that need a product that perhaps you do not. Enough said, read the hundreds of posts on here from users wanting the sync function and that will rest the case.
What type of business do you conduct?

I own a national life insurance marketing company (wholesaler) in the US. Our corp offices are in CA and we have a network of brokers across the US that distribute products for life insurers through our admin offices. We use Outlook to run our entire company and it works perfectly. MS Outlook and MS Office in general was built with small to medium size businesses in mind and though the majority of large fortune 1000 corporations use the Outlook exchange as a means of email client, etc, most small businesses use Outlook without the exchange option.
I think there was a way a few centuries ago. Now wireless sync is more widely used. Try it you'll be amazed.

While I totally agree with the OP on a few points -
- BB 7.1 and down did an amazing job of sync'ing with Outlook.
- Tons of small businesses do still run using a NON-cloud version of Outlook.
- Stand-Alone Outlook is a solid answer and can work fine for what they are using it for.
I can't help but fall back on what I've learned over the last month at my new job. We are NOT a "large" company. In fact, by the OPs description, we are tiny compared to his company. But we are using Outlook-Exchange and the benefit is HUGE!!! I'd challenge the OP to rethink your view of a could based Outlook method and how it can help your company, plus solve your problem of sync'ing your z10. I'd take a closer look at Outlook Exchange.
True, I got totally lucky on this because I had sync'ed my 9810 with my Outlook at this new job, then got my z10 a week later. And when I put in my email info it just started sync'ing all my contacts, calendar, etc. It was flawless and continues to be possibly the best workflow I've seen.
Hey Tim! If you are replying to me as "OP" (though not the original OP of this thread, just a contributing poster), I actually looked at Outlook Exchange a few years ago (been using Outlook since it first came out in Office 97 I think) but after some consideration, the cost of the change didn't warrent the benefits.
Everything is changing and we are trying to change with the times but due to the confidential nature of our business a cloud type system is out and there still isn't enough of a reason to make a change to Outlook Exchange Server. I have a secondary email address at "outlook.com" and honestly hate it. So at the end of the day and when the time finally comes for Q10, if the inability to sync Outlook on my desktop with the BB10's still exist, then I will probably wait until someone figures out that there are many of us out here that need it to, and developes a link. I have read in numerous threads that the next update for BB10 will have the fix or link added and this conversation will be for not.
BTW, I totally agree with all that you are saying, just won't fit our business model and not need for it at this time.
PS: Great website! I'll have to follow your successes at the track!
You and I both were shocked at the lack of sync tools from BB. I got over 400 contacts and a lot of calendar entries as my phone is a business tool and for them to not INLCUDE a method of getting this on my Z10 . . . good luck Blackberry!
You can "shudder" all you want. My company has been using Outlook stand alone and it has always worked great!
Firms use Outlook stand alone. It would be very hard for them to change. Even if the "Cloud" was much better. Remember not all end users are tech savvy.
As such BlackBerry must update link to accommodate direct connect users. Period.
And they will.

Any rumors or news on two way sync with outlook? It's been almost 3 weeks and calendars and contacts are really getting out of wack. The longer this goes the bigger the problem is going to be.
