I can turn off data or mobile network but can't just turn off LTE and run 3g. Is there an app that would allow me to do that?

No. I can get a full day but don't need LTE all day long so if it can help extend then that would be great. Someone said he was able to get 50 hours on a charge. It would be nice getting 30 or so.

    Verizon has network settings locked.

That said, I can almost get a full 2 days off before charging, if the phone isn't being used at all, or minimally, As in, only have work email synch at 30 minute intervals, other 3 at 2 and 4, no text and a few calls.

The most the phone has drained from what I have seen on my phone is from streaming and downloading, particularly downloading. DL eats up battery like crazy, like from 70% to 50% from 1 download.

assuming Verizon has turned off the option allowing you to choose the network technology screen, just as att has you can use the escreens

It's the engineering screen on blackberry. It give you the ability to change a bunch of things that otherwise you would not have access to. From there you go to general radio and change it off of lte to whatever cdma setting you use. I have gsm so I only know about mine

Lemme get this: both at&t and Verizon prevent you from choosing network connection? What's up with that? On t-mo choices are:
    LTE/HSPA+/UMTS/GSM
    HSPA+/UMTS/GSM
    LTE/HSPA+/UMTS
    HSPA+/UMTS
    GSM

Check whichever you're into at the moment.

I also have tmobile and have been curious about those options, what combination is best for quality service/ battery conservation. It looks like the third one? What's your or anyone else's opinion

Does it have anything to do with VZW being CDMA or they just choose to not allow you a choice?
    04-29-13 09:16 AM
  21. rolltide78's Avatar
When you choose UMTS/GSM it comes back and says "No network found". I confirmed this on an S3 as well on Verizon since it's CDMA. You'd think though you could go to pre LTE like on a 9930 if you desired.

My VZW android has a number you can "dial" to open the special network settings, but I don't know if there's anything similar with BlackBerries.

Guys again, you can choose what network technology you want to use by way of the escreen since Verizon and AT&T don't let you access it though regular settings anymore

Is there any way at all to turn off LTE on a Verizon z10?-img_00000338.png

When I'm running data on wifi I set network to GSM. Otherwise I run HSPA+/UMTS/GSM. Not sure if that's the best though. You may want to experiment?
