My girlfriend is away on a 9-day tour, so she is out of range for a chunk of that time.

Yesterday I sent a few messages, 4 in total. However, they haven't been read because, as I mentioned, she is out of range and her phone is off.

What I want to do is to not have her receive the last 3 texts. Is there some way where I can make that happen at my end?

    Any help is appreciated.

You should have used BBM, bought the retract message thingie and... retracted the messages.

I hope it was nothing she can't forgive. Best of luck.

PS: Read and Unread SMS both show the gray checkmark. No way to tell if she saw an SMS or not on BB10.

    This.

That isn't always the case. Depending on your carrier and the recipient's the grey checkmark can turn blue with a D showing it was delivered.

Thanks! And no, nothing she can't forgive, just that it's a relatively new relationship and the last 3 text messages look to be a bit too much from my end.

Yes, correct, I didn't send it via BBM, and she doesn't have a Blackeberry.

All the other messages have the blue "D"; it's only this lot of 4 that have the grey checkmark, which I would guess is that they've not been read/received due to her phone being out of range.

Hmmm to my knowledge, it's not possible to recall a SMS or MMS message. However, carriers has rules on how long they will try to deliver a message. Some may cancel a message if the phone is offline for a long time
