    Has Blackberry managed to fix the issue with the default text message ringtone playing for every contact despite there being a different one for "messages" set? I just upgraded to 10.1 and it doesn't appear like anything has changed.

    Unfortunately, no. In some later versions of the OS that field is renamed to e-mail messages, because that's all the notification is for.

    Custom text notifications for individual contacts has yet to be implemented. Right now your only option is to use a third party app like bebuzz or hub++.
