How do you check data usage? An att rep called me earlier and gave me a lecture about going to ridiculous lengths with my usage. Apparently I am at 12gigs in one month and I am calling bs. I can't believe I used that much but I don't know how to check.

I don't have a Z10, but there is probably a preinstalled "My AT&T" app on your phone, part of the AT&T crapware. You should be able to see your data usage in there.

I call BS too! There is no way unless your tethering that you used that much data. I'd be checking your account on a computer to see what is going on....in all my time as a rep I've only seen ONE person use that much data in one month.

Streaming movies or video over the network will do this.

Another thought: I think you should get a text message from AT&T when you are close to your data limit.

Their warning text are notoriously late by like 1mb! For instance you have a 2gig plan, and they send you the message when you're like at 1,999.00 usage. Next email you get sends ya right over the 'cap'

The only time I've ever used that much data is when I was streaming from Google Music on my Nexus.

You can just check online under your account info. I haven't even used 1 gig yet, but I am on wifi most of the time.

Yeah I get several texts and emails when approaching the limit, and then the same with each 1gb extension thereafter.

I've used about 2 gigs already. I got my Z10 on launch day. I'm also on a grandfathered unlimited data plan. I haven't been keeping my wifi on to save battery.

Yea this app did the trick and showed my usage so thanks. And apparently they are right. I have used over well over 12gigs. It's actually at 14 or so. I think I am at fault because I left my phone at my friends place for a couple days and he might be the culprit.

    Hahaha...

My data usage is at 167MB since the 22nd. Guess I haven't been off of Wi-Fi very much since I received the device. That, and I haven't been doing much streaming. Perhaps I should do a test run with no Wi-Fi to see how bad the usage really is. I'm on an unlimited plan, so it won't matter one way or the other, but I am now curious...

    +1

The last time I left my phone at a "friend's" house by accident, a good deal of my stored contacts were only good for calling fast food restaurants, psychic hotlines, etc... Did make for some interesting conversations though.
