What are these symbol for?

Left side "N" and right side"BB"

please share your knowledge

The left side "N" is the NFC symbol. It means your NFC is enabled. The right side "BB" is the BlackBerry data symbol. It means that you have working data services on your phone.

N stands for NFC and the Blackberry symbol means your connected...in the past it meant you were connected to the BIS but with the z10, im not so sure if it means your connected to BIS as from what i have been reading is that BIS is dead more or less.

I am confused with BIS thing. I do have BIS as i was using 9800 previously. But yesterday when i added SIM to z10 I was not able to use internet at all. so India Vodafone Customer Care team told me to buy some regular data plans which people use in Android etc and i purchased that.

When my dataplan got activated today afternoon I was only getting "E" (EDGE - 2G) Symbol. but now it seems I see blackberry data-plan symbol too. so which one my phone using BIS or regular data plan.

There isn't a "BlackBerry specific" data plan needed anymore, but the logo means you are connected to their network. Among other things, BBM still runs on this.

Yesterday I was able to use BBM without SIM Card via WiFi....
