    Hello,

My blackberry device suddenly goes off with the battery level full.

I might just be holding the device....it then suddenly goes off and then I have to plug it to power to get it back on....by the time it comes up the battery level is still full.

Please what can be the problem with the device

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

It's tired, you've been holding it all day and it needs rest. A good night's sleep should fix things up.

@walcolm and all...I also have same issue with my STL100-1. It shuts off at 28% battery. And I have raised this on blackberry support forum, #BlackberryHelp and CrackBerry forum as well. None have any answer or real interest to investigate it seems due to it affecting STL100-1 (only) it seems.
I was told to reset battery meter by keeping the phone plugged in to OEM charger, remove the battery and insert it post reboot. Have done it 5 times but that has not helped. #BlackberryHelp said test with new battery which means I need to buy a new battery first to test if this is Blackberry OS bug or Blackberry battery bug. CrackBerry says "Seriously? 1 post, and you're entertaining this??" so in all bad investment is what I am staring at as of now....

I dont have any one who owns STL100-1 around me to test battery from that phone hence and I dont want to give my 2 month old phone to blackberry support to keep it there for months hence only possible option looks like is to buy a new battery and pray it is OS bug....which hopefully will get addressed in near future - months, years to come may be....

    Hi There,

I am also using the STL-100-1 version.
    Current OS: 10.1.0.4181

    I remember doing two things:
    1. I had connected my phone to my laptop to charge for the whole half day
    2. Then i flew from India to Malaysia and got the DIGI sim card and loaded into my BB Z 10.

Within minutes the z10 turned off. Since then the mob will turn off at 40% to 50%.. I learn the battery % by calling up the BatteryPal app immediately when the phone turns on when i connect to the charger.

I have also been noticing that the battery would get heated up suddenly inside my pocket even when i am not using the mobile.

As suggested in some blogs i also tried connecting to the wall charger and did the battery pull out at least 10 times. It seemed to work for the first time but again the phone turnes off at 50% or sometimes even at 70%. I get a feeling that the phone has started to switch off even at higher % now a days.

    1. Can someone tell me if this an indication that the battery has gone bad and the solution is to change the battery?
    2. Could i try to reload the OS? If so how do i reload the OS.

    Thanks in advance - Parthiban.
