A while back when I first got the pohne, I had some early teething problems ( such as a 5 hour battery life between charges), which all got resolved (with a reactivation and tweaking settings) ,
per this thread.

But as of yesterday, all of a sudden....:
- performance is now super slow for ROUTINE function, opening am email, viewing contacts etc
- unit is firefy hot - now at 105 degrees
- the rapid battery drain is back.

Clearly something is running continuously. Any suggestions? Is there an app that monitors what is running?

The only thing I recently updated was, Battery Lover - which I since deleted ( it didnt cmake any difference).

Think I finally found the problem..Location Services was ON.

I always keep it OFF, but it I guess it got turned ON when using one of my apps - a quick tap when I wasn't paying attention.

Location Services = bad, bad, bad !! That thing sucks up juice like an alien. They really need to improve the OS so Location Services turns off automatically after 20 minutes or so if there is no keyboard activity.

I am now back to cool operating temperatures and long battery life. Yay !

Also downloaded Battery Optimizer ( good reviews) and ran its optimizer to maximize battery life. I'm sure I have most settings set correctly already, but I figure it couldnt hurt. May delete that app later, but will hold on to it for now. Battery Lover is back as well.
