My Z10 dropped out of my pocket while sitting in a booth at a restaurant. Didn't check for my phone until I made it to the car. Went back in and the phone wasn't there and none of the staff said they found anything when cleaning the table.

Is there any way to track the phone location? I don't want to report it stolen and burn the ecn before I know it is gone. No answer when I call the phone. Any suggestions? Never pulled this stunt before

I'm sorry to hear it... You had a password I hope? So that it'll at least erase the emails and such...

Maybe he had alternate contact info on his locked screen. I always put an email and an alternate contact number on my lock screens just in case I misplace my phone.

I was calling the phone almost constantly from my office phone. I guess they pulled the caller ID off the phone screen. You can get incoming calls even with the phone password locked. When I lost the phone, I had my office phone forwarded to the cell, so I raced back to the office to turn that off in case anyone called. I also left my number at the restaurant in case anyone found it. I didn't ask how they got my number, just glad they did.

Glad you got it back. I have two numbers on my locked screen. One is my wife and the other work. If you do set up BlackBerry Protect its kinda cool to test out once in awhile. I use it to get a glimpse of where I'm at once in awhile like when I'm at the lake.

Glad you got it back or are getting it back.

May I suggest that no one count of BB Protect. While it does and can work, there's a thread from the other day where it did not work. In my initial tests (i had not tested in 2 or 3 months) the other day, Protect placed my phone in Page, Arizona where I had been the week before and about a thousand miles from where I was sitting with the phone. I am not sure why it still had that particular location. Also, I could not get the Message/Sound features to work, nor could I get it to lock (it normally does lock but I was testing that, too). Once I rebooted the phone (don't count on a finder doing that), the features all worked.

I do have an Email address showing on the lock screen. I might add a second one. Not sure I want another phone number exposed if it were stolen.

And don't forget to turn location to ON if you haven't done so.

Sure, any "smart" thief is going to pull the battery out of the phone first thing. So, it only works with stupid thieves
