There are apps that offer the "anywhere in the world" connectivity, i.e. your computer/files are at home but still accessible when you're not? Or does everything have to be on the same LAN?
I had splashtop desktop in my (I have to be connected to the web). I stand corrected.

Like it or not, this attitude is something BlackBerry brought on themselves, most recently by admitting they're basically going to ignore the consumer market.

Even main stream sitcoms are mocking BlackBerry. I don't like it either... but without any marketing to bolster the brand it is inevitable.

And... Mr Chen has only made it worse by implying that he can ignore the consumer market for now... and maybe, MAYBE, come back to it later.

Well guess what Mr Chen? You obviously don't understand the fickle nature of the consumer market... and you will likely NEVER be a player there again.

Sad... with such a great product... you could have been so great... if you'd simply done a bit of marketing.

I know you hate me and my message. But I represent a simple truth that many simply ignore. It's time you all stop it with your worship of an outfit that has crappy customer service even though they may have a decent product.
I was a BlackBerry fan until my phone died. Customer service was no better then the kid in the store that the OP was talking about.
My message is simple. Customers- demand better. Potential customers- let the buyer beware.

What you represents is your own user experience and maybe perhaps a few others. Just because others like me who do not have your negative experience that we are content with our devices does not constitute worshipping. I like my Imac does not mean I worshipped Apple. I like my Playbook, I don't worship BlackBerry. It's not a religion, it's a technology devices that aid our communication as well as a form of entertainment . To make a blanket statement about your own experience as the truth and stating otherwise as a form of worshipping reflects your own naivete at the perception of the world and the people who live in it.

Indonesia really knows how to promote BlackBerry. North America could learn so much from your BlackBerry Executives and Sales Reps.

As much as I hate to say it, the various Android OEM's offer all of the above. And they are the market leader, not iOS.
All the android phones have hdmi?? Maybe the multitude of Android phones collectively cover all those bases, however, I don't know them all, but none of the android phones I owned had hdmi? The original list was a comparison with iphones, not android.

Anyway, bells & whistels & animations from Windows apart, I pretty much understand where is Windows Phone at now.

It's nothing better than BlackBerry, it's a mess of things. So let's continue to support BlackBerry, because those who do not know it are the same who criticize it harder...

Well, there are a number of reasons for this. To begin with, many believe BlackBerry's Z10 launch was a flop. (Especially me) Even though the operating system was good, it was not ready for prime time. Plus, the marketing was not well executed. The press took over and the rest is history.
Here is the good news for you. Because of these mishaps, you can now get a Z10 that has had three major updates and is now dirt cheap for you the consumer. Don't be fooled by the price. Cruise carrier sites throughout North America and have a look at consumer reviews. The Z10 along with other BB10 phones always rate extremely high. In most cases, higher than the competition.
Some of the best phones on the planet are now $0.00 down on a two year contract. The Z10 is one of them.

Agreed. Another factor is also because it is over a year old device. Still one of the best out there in my opinion however.

If you have used BB10 then you may have a different view. That's the main problem. People don't realize that BB10 is a very competitive OS and think of BlackBerry as the the old legacy devices.

Actually, I would challenge anyone to use a BB10 10.2.1 device for a month and then try and part with it. I would bet 90% would find it difficult .Things like that Dad Review site using a Z30 for a week is really changing the tone when it comes to BB10 ignorance. I never have a problem with people saying they're not found of BB10 as long as they've given it a good test drive. I could never give my opinion on any item if I had not done the same. That kind of practice is best kept for teenage Xbox vs PS sites.

Have you ever worked in frontline sales?

I had a sales job in college. In fact, it was for a national electronics chain store (it was well before the smartphone era).

I can tell you this. While we weren't directly paid on commission, we did receive monthly bonuses based on our "productivity" which was measured by sales net of returns. If there was a product on the floor which wasn't selling well (which is the case for Blackberry based on the stats) and which was not receiving brand support from the manufacturer (as is clearly the case for Blackberry), I would not be pushing it plain and simple.

I remember in the weeks before a product launch, our store (which was not a flagship store by any means) would be visited by brand reps and we would be given product demos so that we could properly sell a device. In addition to that, brand reps would offer incentives (ranging from freebies to cold hard cash) so that the sales teams would push their products. The absolute last thing that would work with me would be a customer coming in to the store, "kicking the tires", taking up my time and trying to convince me to sell their favorite device with absolutely nothing to show for it. Would I have laughed at them or treated them rudely? Absolutely not. But it would also not make me any more likely to push their favorite product.

Those frontline sales days are long gone for me, but from everything I have seen on this forum and in the media and from personal experience, BBRY just doesn't provide the same product sales and marketing support as Samsung, Apple or even HTC and other brands.

So, absolutely, go out there and "fight the good fight". But from my personal experience in frontline sales, I highly doubt you're actually making much of a difference in terms of converting any sales clerk into a BB ambassador. The only effective way to accomplish that would have to directly involve BBRY and an effective marketing and sales campaign.
That's why BlackBerrys don't sell too much in your country because simply you don't sell them due to lack of freebies and cold cash to offer to you by the company. And with additional bashing to BlackBerry because of lack of incentives given to sales rep. And that is what the sales rep doing in USA.

Savvy iPhone users have been demanding better email functionality and something better than the sad excuse for a keyboard for 6 years. Good luck with that. It's too bad you have to settle for an inferior device.

Given my logic, I would have been given a working device. I was not and was told by my carrier to seek an alternative. That fault lies with the company(s) that I was dealing with.
That would be Koodo and Blackberry. So if your device works, then great. If it fails, you are on your own. That's my experience. My hope would be that a company that wishes to rebuild it's customer base would do better. So, if anyone is reading this post is on the fence about which device to buy at least they will know what they may be dealing with should they have an issue.

Funny thing is that in my country up untill iphone4s everybody just had to have an iphone or else he is lought at, then came samsung... no everybody is rocking samsung s4 or note2... and all operators stoped their support for BlackBerry by this time, so the only way to source them is by ebay or black market... i just wish BlackBerry had stores ran by itself...

And this is EXACTLY why BlackBerry needs to help USA and Canadian gov get BB10 approved for use and in the hands of employees. They are all still using legacy devices because BB10 is not yet approved for use.

This makes ppl still think BlackBerry is old and out of date.

Can you imagine if all gov workers in USA and Canada switched to BB10??? We'd have hundreds of thousands of ppl now seeing how great these devices are and spreading good stuff about BlackBerry again. Word of mouth marketing would revive BlackBerry once again.

But for some reason it's taking both gov FOREVER to roll out BB10 to their employees.

Is biggest downfall I see with BlackBerry and the BB10 rollout. In my view.
