Is there an app that works for the z10 that stops sms / mms / email from being received? Kind of like a start / stop app or program? I don't mind receiving calls but sometimes I receive sms / text during inappropriate times.

I've taken a look, but can't see any app that would do so. The SMS function is part of the core OS -- it may not be possible to do so.

Why can't you just create a profile where you don't get an alert for texts? Bedside mode for example can be set to only allow calls

You can't create notification profiles on BB10, only modify the pre-installed ones.

I use HUB++. I customized it so that text from someone else will have silent notification but customized blinking LED. If you dont want notification altogether, you can custmize all texts to have silent notification and no LED.
