I've had great batter life too.......since purchasing a Z30!

The Z10 is a good phone but once you get a Z30 or if you're lucky enough a Passport, it quickly becomes apparent how far behind the Z10 is in almost every regard......especially battery life!

The OEM charger bundle has worked great for me. If you don't want to add bulk but still have twice the battery life, the charger bundle is the way to go. I got mine for $9.99 on Amazon.

I have no complaints from standard 1800mAh battery. With 1-2h phone calls and 2h screen on time in average, my battery lasts at least 12h. I live and work in a big city. With a lot of users around here LTE network is in fact not much faster than HSPA+, so I use HSPA+ only. It saves battery a lot and the signal quality is actually better. Also, I don't use swipe to unlock. Screen digitizer always on drains battery faster. I don't know what other guys do with their phones, but the phone is mainly a communication device. It's not a game device, nor a book reader. I have some actual work to do during the day and I can't spend 5-6h time to play with my phone.

Something is wrong with your phone. In idle with no use my phone lasts at least 2 days with standard battery. Today I took it off charger around 7am, now at 11.30pm it still has 15% battery left. I had about 1h phone conversations, answered about 10 emails and have sent about 20-30 messages. First, check what is draining your battery. Second, keep in mind there are many fake or heavily used batteries for Z10 around. A friend of mine got a "new" Z10 battery off eBay with 950 cycles on it.

Why would I want to make my phone thicker and no longer compatible with most cases? That just trading one flaw for another.

Going to rant for 1 minute maybe 2, to the OP bravo now we need one post like this for the ones that keep asking when 10.3.1 is coming but at the end of the day you the end user of your Z10 need to remember that your "Smart Phone" is just that a phone with the capability to numerous things but at the end of the day it isn't a laptop, gps, wifi router, camera, video/movie player/recorder, playstation/xbox ect. it's still just a phone. So if you're a heavy user then pick up an extra battery/charger as the OP stated and move on as you have the option to change your battery on the fly where some folks can't and in if you purchased your Z10 without doing your due diligence by reading various reviews and posting that folks had put up about the phone shortcomings (yes to include battery life) then at the end of the day who is to blame? Done..

Update: after 2.5 months of use with the new battery I go from 100% to 30% after 5 hours of medium, non continuous browsing. Perhaps I got a bad battery? Once I get back home in a couple of days I'm going to re-test with the factory battery. Another possibility is that my indicator is off.
