Replaced my STL100-1 with a -2 yesterday (gave the -1 to the missus) and comparing them side by side, noticed that the overall appearance, and especially the whites, were much warmer on the -2. I cranked both to full brightness. I remember reading reviews about how warm the screen was from many European and American websites, but I never noticed it myself. This is probably why!

I have to say I much prefer the cooler colours on the -1. Whites actually looked white, as opposed to off yellow. No idea why they would be different but there you go.

    Anyone else noticed this?

Thought about taking screen shots and posting here, but that wouldn't do much as they'd show up on your computer the same!

And don't have another camera handy unfortunately.

It's not true that a specific model has a cooler or warmer color LCD.

It seems BlackBerry used different LCDs across the Z10, regardless of model number. My friend and I purchased two STL100-2 phones online (even their BB pins were 1 or two digits off) and mine had the "whiter" screen as opposed to the warmer more yellow looking screen on his phone.

This not only happens to BB, but other manufacturers as well.

Ah wasn't aware of that. Made the judgment because my mate as a has a -2 with warm screen. Never noticed it on iPhones, and I've owned a lot of em!

True stuff. It's not totally uncommon for smartphones to have different screens/hardware in their lifespan.

I think your stl-1 was a defect product, I have stl-1 and white is shown as white, not yellow

This is the same case with previous iphone 3gs screen, someone get the "yellow" screen too, so I think you only get a defect product

I was saying the whites are whiter on the -1 I had. I preferred that.

    argh my bad...
i was posting from my z10 when i just woke up, haha
sorry2, first i don't catch your title before..
i think if it's warmer, the positive side is to make your eyes safe from radiation.. but the negative side is your z10 seems unsightly..

All good. Argh it's really annoying me. I'd have stuck with the -1 had I noticed before transferring all my data over! Too late, missus won't wanna trade back now :/ will hopefully get used to it.
