I replaced it with a real protector. It wasn't the static that bothered me, but the dust was the issue.

Yes, just take the otterbox apart and pop off the included screen protector. It comes off fairly easy, then just apply a regular screen protector to your z10 screen. Works like a charm, atleast for me anyways. Hope this helps

This is the kind I use, fairly cheap and fit perfect... they also make them in anti-glare finish as well

Never experienced static with the OtterBox Defender case. But I have switched to the Poetic case due to us ability issues.

I had the defender for 2 days. Returned it because of touchscreen not being as responsive through built in protector.

Tweet OtterBox about your experience. They are very receptive to feed back about their product.

I'm not that tough on my stuff so I am going to buy the trusty holster and Invisible Shield to protect the device.
