I tried to change my device a numberous times. But everytime I do, the weak signal
brings me back to my 9900. I live in a city but this doesnt change anything it seems.

    I tried various devices: 9000, 9900, 8830, GS4, GS4m, iP5, iP4S, Z10, Q10

I'm no scientist, I can read the db-meter. Ok so when I check the signal at
a pretty good area (9900 db around -65-70) I got the following db of the other devices:

    9000 - 70
    8830 - 70
    GS4 - 80
    GS4m - 95
    iP5 - 95
    iP4s - 80
    Z10 - 90
    Q10 - 85

So you can imagine when I got -90db with my 9900 at my office...
Yes, I tried 10.2 at the Blackberries and 2G only. No difference at all.

This, brothers and sisters, keeps my at my 9900. The luxury to phone someone
when I need to. Or even more important - when I want to.

It is a luxury problem and you cant or need to help me, but this is clearly a whining thread
about all the new cellphones with blazing 4G and horrible GSM signal.

Do you notice any drop in performance? Like data speeds and such?

I've learned that sometimes the signal strength is relative and sometimes means nothing to actual performance.

But on the other note, I believe the LTE reception should better because of the type of wave it is. Compared to the higher frequency ones.

Yes, some said they cant hear me clearly. I even had dropped
calls with iP5 and Z10. This is pretty strange since BBs are tested
pretty good regarding the signal strengh.

To do a fair comparison, you need to be sure you are on the same tower. You can tell the tower ID from the engineering screen. There may be an app as well that does this, but I haven't found one on bb10.

    Np's here.

On my iphone 4 well it has a crappier signal and I have had lost calls on it.

How do you see your signal strength on the Z10?

How to access the engineering (Help Me!) screen on BlackBerry 10 | CrackBerry.com

The engineering screen has everything. Signal strength, tower, even the neighboring towers.

I'm really surprised the engineering screen isn't a sticky since a lot of people hack their phones to get around carrier restrictions. For instance, some carriers do not allow tethering while roaming, even if data service while roaming is allowed. There are all sorts of hacks using the engineering screen to get around this.
