When I asked if I had missed an OTA update during an extended overseas trip or failing that was there was a link to where I could download then new OS. The store folk replied that ATT doesn't do OTA updates,?????, and tried to send me here to CB for the new OS. Has ATT really washed its hands of us "legacy Z10" BlackBerry folk? The store folk confessed they know nothing about BlackBerry. Really frustrating.

Interesting that the store doesn't know about supporting BlackBerry, but they do know to refer you to CrackBerry.

First of all, your typical AT&T store employee wouldn't know jack about OS updates. They are only there to sell you a new phone, service, or both.

You may run across the odd employee who actually knows a bit more and is helpful. But don't expect that to be the norm.

It'd be funny if T-Mobile buys ad space for any CrackBerry pages/threads/questions that mention AT&T. Since those people might be sent over here by AT&T reps themselves.

Who knows, maybe they do already.

Given the fact AT&T is selling Classic and the Passport, they aren't "done," as you say. An employee I talked to the other day was using a Classic as her store phone. They have to use the different phones so she is currently using the Classic. They usually do not know much about OS updates, unless they are personally interested in them or the company actually has announced something. Until the company announces something, they will usually know nothing.

Not surprised that the AT&T rep told her that. I'm on Verizon Wireless and, they too, haven't pushed any iteration of the 10.3 OS update. I finally bypassed them, got directions and files from CrackBerry and updated the OS myself using the Sachesi method.

My Z10 is now running 10.3.1.2744. It's much better than 10.2. Worth doing.

Yup, did the same with my father's Verizon Z10. Just downloaded SACHESI searched for OS, download and install. Completely non-destructive and had him back on his phone with everything intact on 10.3.1 from Rogers in a little over an hour. I find this the simplest ***** proof way and no data loss or restore needed. Def backup just in case as always.
