    I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before. So, pardon me if it's redundant.

    I tried this just now: when I keep pressing the camera icon for few seconds at bottom right corner of the screen when locked, it launches camera directly.

    Just thought of sharing.

    ah, you've just realised that?? that's one of those reasons why bbry decided to put that icon on the lock screen. it is not just being there for nothing...

    I noticed this too, looks like a way to take a quick photo without having to unlock your phone (if that is set).

    The reason when you have to press and hold it to open it while at the lock screen to avoid accidental tap.

    It's more for if you have a Pw set...you don't have to enter in your Pw just to unlock your phone to take a picture. and in that case it's very convenient and useful.
