Skype appears to be working fine but cannot make all video calls to other types of phones. Is this a native BlackBerry App?

No it's not. I've called people who were using the iPad and S3 and it worked fine.

I can make video calls to any other device, including PCs, no problem.

I took a lot of flack for criticizing the absence of Skype and citing it as a critical missing app. going way back to mid-March. ... As I sat w/o TM WIFI calls or Skype in Europe, and later S.A., watching others on IPs and Samdroids. Moreover, trying to answer why I couldn't call certain people, or them me, "on demand " wasn't good for business or my reputation.

Admittedly, the function, of course, is more important than the specific Skype app. but no other app in any form has filled the Skype function.
With so much (dis)information being blurted, it is sometimes hard to keep track of what is true.

No, Skype is not 100% functional, as a poster above first made mention. But at least it has made the BB lineup, albeit batting 8th or 9th.

Yes, I agree that in whatever form, the Skype release might be characterized as a bit anticlimactic. This statement would appear to have dual meanings. Notwithstanding, absence of Skype alone easily cost BB 5mm, maybe 10mm, in early worldwide Z sales.

Been waiting and still waiting for Skype. But AT&T has yet to release 10.1 these carriers suck here in the States. I don't want to side load so will can't to wait. Maybe if they are smart they will just release 10.2. :/
