I just saw the same banner on my BlackBerry world as well. Clicking it takes you to a short paragraph about the wonders of Skype and there's an option to share. Unless I'm mistaken, using BlackBerry world as a "Coming Soon" announcement medium is a first.

Well I've been seeing it for a couple days now, but again there needs to be official 10.1 release and what they have been saying is that it is going to be a few weeks after the release of Q10. That is a ball park of around first week of May...

While personally I don't care that much about using Skype on my phone I think it's important to have Skype available. So many people use it. I wonder how well it will work compared to BBM.

I'm hoping for Sirius XM, Instagram, Starbucks, and the ability to take pictures of checks to deposit them soon with my bank. I know Sirius can be saved and Starbucks and Instagram can be side loaded but I'd like more than that. Hopefully Sirius, Instagram, Starbucks, and my bank will get on board with BlackBerry 10. This is definitely a step in the right direction though.

Dangerous use of BlackBerry World if not true. But so much for naysayers about need for Skype to promote sales...Of course it is one of the huge holes to be filled before the Z and Q (to be) sales needed to pull BB from its financial abyss can occur.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that Skype will be here by Memorial Day roughly concurrent with 10.1and U.S. formal Q launch...or this pseudo advertisement will represent just another instance of BlackBerry's puffery of the past 3 years.

My bet is that a fully functional Skype won't be seen any sooner than for Christmas sales. ... I'd gladly settle, however, for a beta version just to tickle the craving and provide some tangible evidence of progress.

I wonder why Crackberry hasn't picked up on this and posted on the front page! I just installed it on my Z10 and its awesome. runs reasonably well and seems to be a headless app. however, there isn't a seperate hub section for it.
