Using my BlackBerry Z10 for a few weeks without issue. It's locked to Bell. Switched to another phone so took out the SIM and gave it to my buddy. He buys a new Virgin mobile SIM and they activate it. The Z10 does not detect the SIM. According to Virgin (a subsidiary of Bell) the SIM works fine.

So I pull out my Bell SIM and try in the Z10 and states the same thing, SIM not detected. Just tried a wipe and no joy. I don't think the SIM tray is damaged. No adapters were used. Anyone have an issue like this and able to solve it without hardware repair?

Yes, I did try this. It didn't improve the situation. I read one solution where someone wiped, configured, plugged in and turned off while charging until light becomes green. When they turned it back on after these steps, it was working again. Trying this step now so I'll know in a couple hours. If this fails, then going to try some autoloaders. Any chance the radio files just got stupid on the device?

It does seem that some files were corrupted during the wipe process. An autoloader would be what I'd try next as it's the easiest.

Update.

Phone taken to repair shop and determined the terminals were damaged. Given quote. Since the SIM was inserted by store personnel, held them responsible. They paid cash for the quote. Repaired. Problem solved.
