I'm looking to buy the phone on Kijiji. Is there any way to know if it's stolen before i buy it? It's a white sealed "Z30" phone factory unlock would it work on telus here in Canada and he says it has one year warranty where would i go to get it service if need to?

Anything else i should know before buying, last thing i need is a 480 $ brick

Ask for the imei and call the carrier. I have bought literally 100s of phones of Kijiji et al and never had issues. If they're willing to give you the imei, generally it's legit. There's also an online database of stolen imeis which you can fire up.

Factory unlocked will work on Telus and for warranty, you're likely SOL unless person gives you receipt and you have the normal 1 year manufacturer warranty.

I've never bought any phones from the website you mentioned but I have bought many many devices from other popular websites. Never been burned. In fact one website requires you to submit the emei prior to posting to verify the phone's status
