Jesus dude, do some simple math!
The original charger is 750mA and the PBs is 1800mA. Of course there are other small factors that determine charging time, but on a simple and quick answer, it's 2.4 times faster.
I use a PlayBook charger at my home, and a Nokia lumia 1.5 amp charger in office when I forget to charge at home. No problems, and yes, they both charge faster and my standard charger I gave away to my friends in the office with bb7 devices :)

I've never had a problem. The only difference I notice between the PlayBook charger and the stock charger is the time it takes to charge

The faster a battery is charged routinely the faster it stops holding charges. Yeah you'll get a charge done in half the time but you also destroy the battery.

Thats a silly conclusion based on zero facts about why they included that charger. RIM even even officially stated the PB charger was safe to use with the 9900 and that was reported here on CB as well.
Au Contraire! Have you felt the additional heat from the battery as a direct result of the higher amp charger? This additional heat WILL reduce the life of your battery, so there is a trade-off. Here is a link to some very good information on Lithium-Ion batteries and the effects of charging rates:
How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University
I get heat from the stock charger too. In fact I only get heat from both chargers if I use the device while charging

Thats what he said.. heat in battery = bad
Heat on charger = okay
I meant heat on the battery whilst using chargers. I have no idea if my chargers get hot lol

I use this car charger as it is the same amperage as the standard PB charger (BlackBerry relabled this as a premium rapid charger for phones)

All a mood point though. The z10/ q10 have replaceable batteries. I already have a 2nd that came with the charging bundle which I don't need anymore since the first OS update. So even if the battery craps out after charging it whatever you please after months, just can replace it with the spare one. Or in anyone's case, buy a new one, they are dirt cheep. Can't do that with certain other phones... :)

I agree. Usually you can find them online under 25 bucks.

Yup! It comes in handy for rapid charges!

Might be a coincidence, but I started using the stock charger a few days ago and today my battery seems noticeably better... I'm at 7 hours with 50% left. Not sure I've ever seen it go this long
Use my PB charger all the time for my Z10, specially when I'm traveling and don't need to carry 2 cords. I can definitely say it charges my Z nearly(if not fully) 2 times faster.
Li-ion, kind of like NiMh, are susceptible to heat over time and power draw or power force (feeding it large amounts of amperage).
Li-Ion not to be confused with LiPo (lithium polymer) which can take large amounts or power draw and changing amps, and does not get hot but rarely, but LiPo's can be dangerous. Li-Ion which is better than old technology but still doesn't like heat.
The Z10 uses Li-Ion, and can still be affected by heat, one has to ask why they wouldn't put a voltage / amperage regulator to keep from giving the battery to much power. It might though just like 5+ amps?? That's crazy.

I guess I was looking specifically for a Z10 reference and there isn't one on that link as it has the generic statement "Compatible with BlackBerry smartphones with a micro-USB charging port".
I am being a little paranoid around my Z10 because this is the first BB I have ever personally owned (I haven't purchased a cell phone since 2006 or 2007 to be honest), I really really really like this thing and don't want to blow it up, and I didn't want to assume the chargers that worked with older BBs like my work issue Bold were 100% compatible. :)
I realize the hangup is on my end and I tend to be a little too litteral, especially with some of the comments on here about the factory issue charger yeilding "better" results and the other concerning comments. Thank you for being patient with me. :)
Being in the electrical field, I will say this the higher current charger or play book charger will charge your battery faster than the stick one simply because of that, it outs out more current. As has been said you will however slightly shorten the life of the battery by doing this, by how much? That is unknown, but it will to some degree.
So you can use the standard charger it will take longer and the battery will last a bit longer before it needs to be replaced
OR
You can use the higher current charger and waste less time waiting for your phone to be charged, with the sacrifice of battery life si that you will have to replace the battery sooner
Those are your options, using the higher current charger will only shorten the life of your battery it will not wreck by our phone. So if you OK paying $25 bucks for a new battery every once in a while then us your high current one, simple
Hope that helps

Wow... Because the amperage of one charger is 2x as much as another automatically means the device is built/rated to handle the increased amperage of the second charger and therefor will charge twice as much with no issue?
I have been working in the IT field long enough to know one should never assume something like this as this is how devices and/or batteries get ruined.
The PB charger is sold as a premium charger for many BlackBerry phones including the Z10.
http://us.blackberry.com/smartphones...solutions.html
I have been using it for two 9900's for a year now and a 9800 and 9700 for the year before. No issues. It does charge the 9900 a bit faster but certainly not twice as fast. I believe the phones monitor and keep the current at a safe level. Just because the premium charger has more then twice the output doesn't mean the phone is accepting that much.
I could only anticipate that rapidly changing these batteries will deteriorate it faster.

But with the rate phones move the battery is sure to outlive the phone
Posted via CB10
That's why I mentioned other factors. I, myself, don't like high output because it degrades my battery on the long run, and that is a fact. However, BlackBerry stated it was safe to use it.
