    Try a restart:

Press and HOLD both Vol Up/Down buttons. Keep holding while the screen goes fully black (ignore the screenshot), keep holding through the Black/White logo and when the Colored Logo shows up, release those buttons.

If you have the STL100-1 variant the volume button reset method doesn't work. In that case, Press and HOLD the Power On Button until you see the LOGO as above

It works on the first try and it doesn't wotk again, tried 5 resets(hold up and down volume) but it still not working. It is bugging me now, proximity/ambient light sensor is not working anymore I reviewed some post and more and more people are having the same issue with me

There was a sensor issue caused by a problem with a BB server a month or so again. I can't recall what folks turned off to get them working again. You might search for SENSOR and find those threads. It was fixed the next day. It might be possible is is again acting up.

I had the same problem. My proximity sensor wasn't working. I took it to Rogers and they replaced it, my phone was still under warranty so I got lucky. They told me the sensor stopped working. You might need to replace if all else fails.

Good luck and I hope you get it fixed up

Unfortunately there's no Blackberry Center nearby, if I gave it to my carrier for repair it will took 20 days (shipping sucks) before I get it back

It needs to be replaced, your sensor is no longer working. I hear you, 20 days without your Z10 will be hard plus shipping, yikes. Is it still under warranty?

Rogers had it done in 1 week for me. I missed my phone so much during that time. They gave me a cheap LG running Android. Worst experience of my life. When I finally got my Z10 I was so happy.

When the Rogers rep gave me back my phone he said "nice to have your phone back" and I said yes indeed that LG was the worst experience of my life. He said " too bad they didn't give you a real Android phone like a SGS4 then you wouldn't want to go back to that Z10. I said no thanks. My Z10 is better, smoother, doesn't lag, its multitasking is better and I have a beautiful HUB, sorry but I don't feel opening and closing apps to get my messages. He looked at me and just had a dumb look on his face and I walked out.

It was Traffic Data Collection in Settings > Location. (I'm unsure if that was for this sensor as well as the orientation sensor).

I read some articles about that and I think it was solved but why is it coming again?

Does anybody knows how to get calibration from blackberry?

Most likely it is. Sorry bro. I feel your pain. Sometimes hardware fails, just like mine did. All you can do for now is when you take a call just press the top button to shut off the screen and press it again to turn on the screen when you are done. That's what I was doing until I got it fixed.

Good luck and hopefully you can get it repaired and enjoy your phone.

I think it came back again after the time we first heard it here. I have orientation sensor problems now and again whilst using SuperTube in landscape. I minimise the app and with my Z30 in portrait I go to the hub and the hub turns landscape with the phone upright :s

I run the orientation sensor test in BlackBerry Virtual Expert and it fixes it instantly.

I'm going to turn off that Traffic Data.

That was it - You should TURN OFF location services (not just traffic, The entire Location Services). Reboot. See if it is working normally and then try Virtual expert again. Do NOT turn location services on again until you run some of the tests and see if it works. If it works, then hold off to see if BB fixes whatever might be off-kilter again. Good luck.

I was streaming a movie back then, then suddenly the screen got bright and I noticed that my screen is not dimming anymore depends on the light condition. So I checked the issue on BBVE and proximity and lux sensor is not working, I restart hoping that it would work again, so it did but after a few minutes it goes bright again and until now it's not working anymore. Tried everything but nothing works

You've even re-installed the OS? Not the security wipe.

after the problem I tried security wipe but it did not work, then I tried reloading the software via bblink but it did not work, I tried installing new OS via autoloader (10.2.1.294) it did not work. It is still missing in /dev/sensor

You aren't reinstalling correctly if its missing.

Of course the security wipe didn't work. That doesn't do anything to system files. It only erases your data
