    Hi everyone,

I am looking to do a device wipe as I am not happy with a couple of quirks in contacts unlinking and SMS pertaining to voicemail messages in some odd looking group message between "voicemail" and "8"...

So I have backed up, and looked at restore options, they are...

    Application Data
    Media
    Settings

I assume a restore of Application Data and Media will not restore contacts, SMS and messages etc?

Can anyone clear this up for me?

It's certainly not as granular as Desktop Manager was.

Contacts and messages should be synced from your mail account (Outlook, Google, etc...)

SMS can be saved to your SIM Card.

    • In the BlackBerry Hub, tap > Settings > Text Messages > SMS.
    • Set the Leave Messages On SIM Card switch to On.

Thanks for that but I'm not sure it's the answer I'm looking for. I'm asking if I restore application data and media will I end up with my SMS and contacts be restored to my phone?

If not then that's fine with me. I can backup my important SMS messages as you have described.

SMS, contacts, passwords, calendar info, etc. are saved in the "settings" portion of a backup. SMS restore is iffy, when it comes to Link, but most times that info will restore.

Well I restored Application Data and Media and all looked well, until I noticed all my notes in Remember are not there :/

What sort of logic is this....

I will now have to backup, restore a full old backup and then see if I can move remember notes to an Evernote then restore my most recent backup again...

    This is plain STUPID!
