How long should the security wipe take for a Z10?

Depends on the amount of Data on the device. How long has it taken - if you have started it already?

    About to hit 4 hours.
Anything I can do to speed up or stop it?

    Do NOT interrupt the wipe.

ABSOLUTELY do NOT interrupt the wipe - as long as it continues, it obviously has more data to scrub. If it helps, I once had a Blackberry that took over 12 + hrs to wipe but that included a DOD Security Wipe which takes at least 3 passes on the device.

Backup your data, delete all your natives and 3rd party apps frm your phones before you do a sec wipe, it will speed up the process.

I thought this would be a factor on how long it would take. The first couple times I did it, it took 15-20min. I don't think my phone was full but it did have some data in it.

The last time I did a security wipe, it took me over 2hrs. Prior to doing so, I emptied my phone. Manually deleted pictures, videos, songs, movies.

Since it is in the process of wiping now, there is no way of telling how much data was on it - that being said, can you tell if the wiping "indicator" is moving, albeit very slowly?

There is a shredded paper looking pic and a blue dot going around a circle under it.
If it takes much longer I will have to pull the battery to get my SIM card out so I can use my torch for the evening.

Just me, but I wouldn't - Stopping/pulling a battery during a security wipe will give you major frigging headaches in the future if you ever want to use it again....
