Anything on the device itself is cleared. IF you have a media card, remove it and proceed with the wipe after.

It takes some time. Just let it wipe. When it's down you'll have to turn it on

Hi. I did a security wipe on Thursday, it went on for about 15 hours, during the time which it was going, i found this thread and read what happened if the battery was pulled, and was directed to the KB page where the phone shows connect to computer icon, so i thought might as well pull the battery and try to reload it manually, as 15 hours was crazy long. However, it didnt work, during the reload the computer kept saying no device software found. Please advice on what should i do?

The easiest way out of this mess seems to be to find an auto loader for a leak and load that. If you load one that came before the current official release for your carrier you will be able to update to the official OS.

Did you try this? It just says install the latest BlackBerry Link on your computer, plug in and use Reload. I think Reload is in Preferences in the latest version.

If that didn't work the Knowledge Base article says you have to take it back where you got it for repair:

How about trying the Autoloader for 10.2.0.1803?

Make sure you use the right one for your exact model of phone.

Stay away from unproven leaks. They are unfinished versions of the final OS available to the user. You were warned.

    That's funny.

And every "official" release put out so far has been "finished"?

    Hardly.

If I had been waiting on AT&T, I'd still be on a pre-MR 10.1 release.

Reload using an autoloader for your specific model. I've been there, and it worked for me.

At Verizon, you'd have to assemble the phone yourself!

If that's directed at me, and asking why stay with my carrier... who else would I go to? all U.S. carriers are equally bad.

    Nowhere else to go.

But, it's very easy to bypass them when it comes to OSS, so it's no problem. The last time I kept an AT&T supplied OS on a BlackBerry was when I had my Pearl 8100. And then only because they really did have the newest build at the end of my time with it (only one other carrier had one a few builds higher, but at that point, there really wasn't much left to fix in OS 4.5).

Besides, I ain't giving up my grandfathered unlimited data plan.

What is so bad having a new BB10 phone ? Do tell. Especially a Z10, Q5 or any other.

What is so bad that life ceases to exist by having or using one ? They are amazing. I'd love to see how so people would be right now, if cell phones didn't exist, lol. Oh the agony, lol.

I surrendered my z10 to Verizon today so I could get a z30. The verizon sales guy did a battery pull during my security wipe. I shook my head because I *knew* he was going to soft brick the phone.

Not my problem...it's technically theirs now.
