    Hi BBnewbie57,
I have used various cards (none of which were SDXC cards) successfully with my Z10 since last year. The cards have been of various sizes as well ranging from 2GB to the 32GB installed now. If the phone is new, you may want to get the SD card port checked out and replaced. You can also try the card in a computer or another phone to see if the card is defective.

Do let us know the results...

Phone is second hand (eBay) ,card works in my 9320, has been reformatted and phone works great other wise. Some say it could be a software problem. Have tried 2 cards, 1 is 2gb, the other 4gb both SD cards

From my experience, for BB10 devices, the best results are achieved with a class 4 (or higher) SDHC. SDXC also works but not as well...

Currently using SanDisk 32GB Ultra (which I also used on my past 2 droids), and it's perfect. Just enough space for everything you need.
I for example, am listening music almost exclusively in FLAC format, so that takes up pretty much space, but 32GB of extra storage is just fine.
Also, if you're gonna look after SanDisk card, there was a bad batch of 64GB cards, and there are many threads all over the web about problems with these. Also, there are many replicas of 64GB version, so beware if you still decide to go with 64GB.
    Good luck.

Perhaps try formatting in NTFS, and try that out to see if you get the functionality you want before buying another card.
