    In settings tap "display" scroll down to "Screen Timeout." You can then adjust how much time before the screen turns off automatically (from 10 seconds to 5 minutes!)

    You can easily find answers to this and everything else about your device by taping the HELP app on your device!

    Currently, BB10 doesn't allow access to some physical things such as screen so a third party app is not able to programmatically turn the screen off right now. Hopefully, it'll come soon in the next release as I also would love to have a way to turn the screen off without reaching to the button.
