Save Battery w/ 3G ON: Fast Dormancy on Z10-img_00000072.jpg

Interesting, but if this seems to be over your head, move on. No one will be responsible if you don't know what you're mucking with and phone explodes. If tempted, you can google z10 diagnostic screen.

The hidden diagnostic screen on the Z10 allows for the radio chip idle time adjustment. I have not heard or seen anyone who has brought this to the forefront about Fast Dormancy on the Z10. So here it is.

To get a grasp of what FD is, venture over to Android camp where nerd talks about the various modes of FD. There are drawbacks as to setting the dormancy too low or too high. Set too low, the network's latency will increase, but stays idle while still connected. If too high, there will be more power draw, but network speed will be increased.

This is really interesting. I consider myself tech-savvy and I had no clue about this. Although, I'm not willing to mess around with it yet. Would love to know how you're feeling with your new settings and it it helps at all or not?

Has anyone tried this? Does it work? So if I do this my cell won't jump to hspa no more?
