Well I waited for the almighty 10.1 and the fixes it would bring to contacts. I'm fully updated, Rogers 10.1, and contacts are still a mess. Any insight into when this will finally get addressed?

My guess is that when the Z10 was released, 10.1 had already been to testing stage... the issue has been acknowledged by BlackBerry, hopefully with 10.2

I did a back up, then I wiped and did a reset. Contact are only linked to my sim card now. Not through any email client. Seems to have solved the issues. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I had duplicates, as well contacts unlinked after update to 10.1. Twitter self adds to contacts. Hopefully when i get up in the morning all will still be good.

Contacts saved in sim cards will pose problems, expecially the details and how you have labeled them.

The sim card can only retain so many data and when you connect it to any phone, it gets confused of how it wants to output it. I had these issues from going to Sony to Samsung devices.

The best way is to link it through an email and only on email.

For me, phone contacts won't sync with my Gmail contacts if I add carddav after I've populated my phone with contacts from Outlook.

Only work around is to completely remove all my phone contacts and just work with my Gmail contacts.

Next, if I try to link my Gmail contacts which are now on my phone to say LinkedIn or Facebook contacts, ALL LinkedIn and Facebook contacts appear in my phone book even after I've the slider for both of them to off.

My solution, keep everything separate. However I don't think I should constantly work within the limitations (some call them bugs) of the phone. It does BlackBerry no good if we keep making excuses for them. They will think its fine cos the loyalists are just gonna be behind them no matter what they do.

    My solution, keep everything separate.

It's good idea to separate them. One place may store contacts a certain way than another place. So what happens is the phone may get confused.

    For example:

    Hotmail - Name: Jane Doe
    Work: 123-456-7890

Sim card - First Name: Jane
    Last Name: Doe
    Mobile: 123-456-7890

    Gmail - Name: Doe, Jane
    Other: 123-456-7890

I have 2 email accounts. One for work and the other is my personal account. All my family contacts are only linked to my personal email. Before BlackBerry 10, I used to keep them in my work email as well, but now I have completely separated them.

I don't also store contacts in the sim care because it can only store a few data of details.

BlackBerry should include a simple contact option. No linking options.
