I don't believe this at all, unless they are getting ready to deploy new battery tech. Regardless, if it were to happen, I would be extremely impressed.

Why is momax seido and mugen taking so long to develop extended batteries for the Z10 (that fit inside the stock casing) ??

Confirmed it through two guys who work at BlackBerry on my BBM list. Apparently it won't add any bulk and will be same size as current BlackBerry Z10 battery.

Do you guys think this will solve the battery issues? Amazing phone but crappy battery life!
The question I would have is what new technology have they come up with that gives almost double the energy while using the same physical space. No small feat and would be welcomed news by all cell phone users. Hope it don't turn out to be one of those 100mpg carburetors that auto manufactures kept buying up and hiding from the public.

Kind of hard to believe but any improvement would be welcome. I don't have battery life issues but was still planning to pick up the charger bundle at some point. If true this might change those plans.

Battery life is not a problem here but then I;m on 3g all day long here so the 4g LTE is not eating my battery up. Also most apps don't seem to run any more so I'm not playing on my phone like I did

I would be interested in a larger capacity battery perhaps as a second battery. I am not having problems with the current battery.

Z10 battery form factor definitely allows more than a 1800mAh battery, but why BB choose that is still unknown. Maybe they wanted to compete with Apple style (1440mAh) but it's obvious that they failed.

I'm not a believer, as others have stated a 2800mah battery will most def take up more space and be more expensive. I just don't see it being possible when u compare the size to a Note2 3200mah behemoth battery.

BlackBerry can do it but you would need to buy a new back cover as well to fit it

I don't know that I would buy one. The standard backup battery and charger cost less and the boot time is only about a minute.

Also, with my Z10, you would not have to use it until well into the evening.

Don't think you can discount it totally, My razr maxx is definetly not as large as the note 1 and it comes with 3300 - heavier than z10 though. it seems strange to have replaceable battery without some increse in capacity even with the general detereiration issues any phone manufactura would probably rather have you buy a new phone in 2 years time. the maxx is only eight gram heavier than the z10 with a 3300 mah. Does feel way heavier due to form factor though. (in theory it should be possible, thus the note 2 argumentation seems to fall, however don't know if it possible with current formfactioor. All in a battery capacity improvement would seem very plausible, no capacity mentioned

I doubt it. Battery technology has pretty much stopped improving. Until there is a big leap forward, what you get in all these smartphones is pretty much as good as it can be (for that size).

My friend who is the exec of a battery company confirmed this as well. He knows it from a friend whose friend knows another friend who knows someone on Twitter that follows someone who leaks information from BlackBerry.

So therefore I think it's legit

The thing I'm glad to see about this forum topic is that a lot of people are saying they don't need the higher capacity battery. As you were.
