    What are you trying to accomplish exactly? On Android, rooting gives you superuser permissions. Why would you need that on the Z10? Just curious.

    If you could root a berry that'd defeat the whole purpose of a secure OS

    e.g. edit hosts files, install and test Unix packages, access and personalize interface...

    +/- what the jailbreak brought to iPhone...

    I am inclined to agree, blackberry is not a Honda (android) its a BMW, no need to customize that.

    No need to root as the Z10 is just fine. If you like to root your device, go with Android. Blackberry 10 OS us just fine. Yes features are missing but those will come in time with updates. Themes and such are slowly coming out in the store so we will see those soon. Tweaks and other little things are slowly going to come out as well.

    All rooting does is giving you full access to the phone and customize it. You can ruin the OS or do something u dont want to and yea.

    @Alexlyman:
    BlackBerry is a bmw.... great build, fast and prone to lots of electrical faults.

    Honda is android...mmm, twice as reliable as the next most reliable brand.

    You are smoking something and need to choose more wisely.

    Rooting or making modifications to the OS are not likely to find their way onto the Z10. Being able to customize the look (themes) does look like something that will be available.
