The Z10 on Rogers was 199.99 on release with a 3 yar deal. Less a 50 dollar rebate it is now down to 99 which i to be expected when the Q is releasing in a few weeks.

This is the Q10, this is what the base blackberry fans want the most. A physical keyboard... its only logical that it costs more...

Wrong info once again. The Z10 was NEVER $199. Pleaze provide us a picture of Rogers saying it was $199. Also take $50 out of $199 is $150. Your math is way wrong.

You are right about the $99 price tho.

Rogers takes preorders? For my Z10 from Rogers, all I could do was a hardware reservation. That meant that the phone would be sent to my store with my name on it. When and if I went to pick it up, I would actually pay for it.

They charge you $40 when you place the reservation and it gets credited back to you when it arrives in the store.

The Q10 is the REAL BlackBerry, it's a much better phone either in built (hardware) has better batteri, better LTE, better screen (superamoled) and it has a Keyboard, so is understandable that the price is higher.

No matter how much everyone complains, the Q10 will "!! SELL LIKE HELL !!"

So factoring in the $50 rebate, at launch the q10 is $10 more then the z10 on Rogers.

Yep, the rebate goes on the following bill cycle so you pay 189.99 and then the next bill you get the 50 rebate.. That's what it was like for one of my lines

My Z10 $50 credit to my account happened 3 seconds after I claimed it online at MyRogers . They have a new way for rebates

Where is everyone getting the idea that the Q10 is a higher end device than the Z10? It's not. It is more of a niche product and hence the price premium. Those that want it will pay for it. Also, you can be almost certain that the pricing is set this way to discourage Z10 buyers from returning their devices and exchanging for Q10.

With all this said too, there is nothing indicating that these prices will be anything like this for longer than maybe a few days or couple of weeks either. Expect the price to drop pretty quick.

I can see the justification for this. The Z10 has to compete with other full touch devices and has to be priced accordingly. Rogers won't be able to get a new client to get a Z10 over an iPhone 5 if it costs more on contract. The Q10 does not have this issue. I remember when the 9700 came out, it was $249 with a 3 year contract!

Q10 pre-order price is like WOW, I like to have one to match my Z10, but that is a STEEP price as the Z10 was 139.99 in beginning and about 2 weeks later was 149.99 and now for limted times for the past week or so it is 99.99.

    $199.99 for Q10 pre-order.

    http://www.rogers.com/web/link/wirel...tailed=RIMNBLK

I am sry to say I won't be pre-ordering I will be waiting a few weeks or so to see what price is then.
First off I've read the thread so far.

You're still complaining for a device launch price which is in-line with market expectations for said device. If you don't like the contract price ... wait till you get a load of the reselling grey-market pricing on Kijiji or Craigslist LMAO.

Expect $1000 first week, then $800-950 the following 3-5wks. The demand should be quite high in Canada alone. I expect eBay to have 4 listings for $1200 the first few hours (24hrs max) to USA citizens + shipping of course.

I made a killing on ebay for Z10. Sold just one of them for well over $2000. I just hope my buddy gives me early dibs on Q10. I mean if I can sell Z10 for 2k then maybe I will up Q10 to approximately 3500.

Umm I guess you don't know me as i make 28.00 per hr.

I sure as heck won't pay that much if the Damn thing drops in price in a few weeks after launch as again I don't need it, just want it so I have a Z10 and Q10 best of both worlds.

I may make good money and buy stupid things from time to time, but I am not a stupid buyer when i can save money.

Had I known the Z10 was going to drop from 139.99 on contract to 99.99 in just over two weeks after launch. I would of waited to save 40.00.

Yeah call me el cheapo, but hey 40.00 is 40.00.

What's funny to me is that Rogers currently lists the Z10 for $99 and the Q10 for $199, but it's discount brand, Fido, lists both the Z10 and Q10 at the same price on a two year "contract" ($350). Fido seems to believe that the two devices are equal but Rogers believes the Q10 to be a premium device.

The only reason for the difference in logic (IMO) is that Rogers services more enterprise customers and figures those businesses will be more inclined to purchase the Q10, so it raises (relatively) the on contract price to squeeze out more up front cash from enterprise customers.

Yeah I know it's business as usual and as for fido well 350.00 is not bad for 2year contract, but many won't put that much cash out all at once for devices.

Rogers is price gouging is all on the Q10 why should it be 100.00 more listed on 3yr contract then the Z10. If anything it should be 139.99 or 149.99 on 3yr contact for a few weeks and then drop to 99.99 like the Z10 is right now.

I just looked at my invoice from Rogers from release day and it said 599 less 400 on 3 year term and 2 billing cycles later I finaly saw the 50 dollar rebate. Not to mention the 245 for the early upgrade fee that was waived again 2 billing cycles later. I am still fighting with them over the activation fee of 35 that was also supposed to be waived.

Listen the Z10 at first was 139.99 that's after the applied 50.00 credit, it was never listed at 189.99 on the website, it however was listed at 139.99 on 3yr contract. Just another rogers marketing ploy.

I also had upgrade fee of around 200.00, but I sold my galaxy S3 for 250.00.

So in reality the Z10 at 139.99 - my 50.00 from the sale of my s3 equals 89.99 is what I paid for the Z10 on 3yr contract.

Sure sure it's 599.99 phone over 3 yrs minus that 139.99 equals around 439.99 left to pay when all said and done.

I had the hook fee of 35.00 waved.

Not a bad deal for me.
