I switched out my microsd card for the one without the 0.99 movie on it. Played a random video from the Web browser and got about 7.5 mins through before the vid flipped from landscape to portrait and won't rotate.

While it was playing, the screen rotate did work properly back and forth prior to the random flip.

Took out my SD card rebooted and so far it's all working. About 20 min without a problem longest it has worked since it started.

Same issues here. Angry birds from day one. Issues with sensors all day today. Seems ok after wipe. Will see how long it will remain finr.

Deleted angry birds and rebooted. Still happens so I don't think it's that. I think it's more likely the downloaded films from BlackBerry World.

Lol wonderful. So we're back to square one. Well I'm at a loss. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if an update sorts the problem.

It's even starting to happen occasionally even without watching a video (after a reboot). I can tell when the screen goes bright.

You are correct in saying that the screen does indeed go bright then the rotation stops working, I find it very strange that it has happened too so many people on the same day

I'm using a Z30 running 10.2.0.262 and am experiencing the non-landscaping screen issue as well, for the first time.

I've tried seeing if the screen would rotate while writing an email, Web browsing, and with several other applications that normally rotation screen orientation when the phone is turned sideways. All now fail to do any orientation other than portrait.

I can't pull the battery obviously but tried the hard shutdown (pressing & holding up and down volume buttons until it restarts): no change.

I'm calling this in to Verizon for a replacement if we can't get to the bottom of this very shortly.

Same issue here, only started after downloading the Home Alone free movie from app world this morning. Screen brightness way bright on white background screens, reboot fixed for only minutes . Even pictures won't go landscape.
Running 10.2.0.429. No lag issue. On Bell Canada network.

And here I thought I was the only one having the problem and that it was a hardware issue.

Running 10.2.0.429, I noticed it quit working this morning around 11am Central. Did a reboot, worked for about 30 minutes and then it quit again. Did another reboot this evening, got another 30 minutes or so and that's it. The only other issue (which I've had since first loading .429) is that my contacts want to duplicate - some of them (#BAL, #DATA, #PMT, Global Warranty Center, and so on) 3-4 times. Syncing them up doesn't fix it, they just come back 3-4 more times. Annoying as hell, but I deal with it - but I'd like for that to get fixed at some point.

I just noticed today... initially seemed to be after playing Real Racing 3, however am now realizing that is happening eventually regardless. Only a Power Off / On fixes... reboot not enough?

I use screen rotation a lot, & am sure I would have noticed this before today (maybe was happening yesterday but didn't notice). Definitely a new thing but why all of a sudden as I had update to .429 a week ago?

This is weird. I don't have the issue, I downloaded many of the. 99$ movies, and watched iron man over the weekend... but I mirrored on my TV with an HDMI cable though.

Are you guys using Android Apps? (side loaded or BlackBerry world).

There is a problem with the rotation of certain of those apps, maybe the runtime, since it remains active in the background, is causing problems with the rotation of the screen ?

Having rotation issues myself. Started today in the afternoon. Downloaded angry birds season from Day 1 gift yesterday and shark dash today. Noticed the issue before shark dash download. Rebooted phone and compass works for 5 seconds then stops. Nothing goes in landscape after battery pull. Running 10.2.0.429 on z10.

I have no side loaded apps, nothing much has changed except turning the dark theme on in bbm. I didn't download any of the free apps except the Home Alone movie. Many reboots and a battery pull. Occurs even without going into video. Can't landscape anything for more than a minute or two after a reset.

wow. i am having the same problems. Didnt think anything at first but now i cant get anything to rotate at all. Compass doesnt work. just says i do not have the necessary sensors to run the application. I did not download anything recently at all. how is this happening to so much people at the same time?

Same issue here, all sensors appear to stop working after a while. I ran the BBVE and it says that the sensors are not available for my device (a Z10).

I'm also using a clip holster, but it no longer shuts off the screen. I've tried reboot and battery pull. ... issue returns after a while.
