Noticed it on mine as of this morning at 5:45am Pacific Standard Time. Mother in-law came over after lunch and i checked hers and low and behold...it's also having the rotation lock issue.

Gonna check my wife's Z10 when she gets home from work. I've updated all our Zs to 10.2.0.429 when it was officially launched by Telus last week i think. None of us had any rotation lock issues but now all of sudden this today for me. Here I thought it was a hardware issue. Hopefully BlackBerry can send an update to fix this.

Mine started Acting up today. No rotation on screen. I shut location services off and toggled the rotation lock twice. It started working again so I turned location service back on and it's still good.

WTF???? Strange that I am seeing this post when my device gyroscope fails to work. Landscape view and no more portrait. I have tried several restarts to no solution. I am running 10.2.1.200 leaked OS. This is incredibly weird.

That would point towards a time dependent bug, right? Affecting 10.2.0.x?

Same here. I'm with the bell with the last official update. I didn't do anything special. The rotate function just stopped working this afternoon. Really odd that it happened tons many people at the same time.

yes but the timing of when this occurred is about a day ago. It's been weeks since we had 10.2.0.x or 10.2.1.x

On Bell, official OS. Started having this problem this morning. Simply rebooting fixes temporarily, now I've disabled location services as suggested and rebooted again. Hope this gets fixed soon. Good job everyone!

Well I mean a bug that is triggered only when the system date/time is greater than a certain value. Think of it as a mini Y2K bug, but triggered on Dec 2, 2013 or whatever the specific date/time was.

    Is 10.2.1.x affected?

I uninstalled gadget box, which was updated a day ago, everything seems to be back to normal. Makes sense, it uses all of the sensors.

So the issue was resolved. Turned phone off for an hour turned it back on and seemed fine. It was off for an hour. Drove home, so about half an hour later the issue is back. I realized it when opening th flip shell didn't do anything.

Will try turning off location services and report back.

It's not a an app issue it's a system issue... the moment you open something like compass watch your sensors go down.

I know. I only meant it seemed resolved for me as the only thing I did was toggle the auto time update. I had location services on. It held up fine for over 5 hours.

I'm trying with loc services off now.

BBOS.com recommends deactivating location services. Seems to have fixed my problem. Except not GPS now but screen rotate works. Good for me until a patch is issued.

Appears to be the BBM update. Turn off location on thy and do hard reboot. Working fine for me now. That's the common link.

Yup. Disabling location services "fixed" it for me. So far so good - and its been all right for quite a while now. Not perfect but at least we have a workaround until BB delivers a patch.

Yet, I've noticed something weird in my Hub today.
A BBM group chat message was on the top of the list with a date to the future (see below for timing).

[RESOLVED] Rotation lock and screen shut off not working-tempoweird.png

Can affected users check if they have the same symptom (you'll also notice that a post will reappear at the bottom of the chat every time you exit/open BBM, below yours). I deleted the chat and now it's ok.
