I am starting to think that this thing is app related... probably the 10.2.0 updated messed up the sensors or has compatibility issues with certain apps and features that uses certain sensors.

I am running Z10STL100-3/10.2.0.1803 on Bell mobility and don't have issue. I will try later to push this phone and reproduce the problem.

I do, yes. It has been suggested in the Z30 forum that this has something to do with it. It's the only thing that hasn't been properly ruled out yet.

I brought that up, because my wife's Z10 is running the same 10.2.0.1791 (on VZW), but I never bothered to install the Runtime from BlackBerry World on it. She is not having any of these issues.

I dont have Android Runtime from BB World and got sensor issues. Also - I am slightly dissapointed with lack of reaction from Crackberry team as well as lack of any official recognition of this issue from Blackberry. Surely they noticed this problem themselves.

We've done this (and even a battery pull). Everything starts working again for a few minutes, but then the problems return.

My Z30 started doing this last night. I did a restart and it was fine for a little bit. I did a hard reset volume up/down buttons to simulate a battery pull, It seems to be working fine now. I did delete the following apps from my device before doing so though. DVICE, Archerisms, Blackberry express, German Vocabulary,and Orbit. So far it is rotating back and forth without issue. I also have a Z10 with 10.2.1.1055 on it and it does not have any issues.

Update Edit:
Scratch that it started up again so screen will no longer rotate on my Z30. aghh!

Update: I see that some people are not having the issue. I then realized that whenever I turn on Bluetooth and connect a device it flakes out.

Last time I tried hard reset sensors stopped working after couple of hours. Last night after 15 minutes. About 30 after security wipe. Its weird - no consistency but they always stop working eventually.

I was on 10.2.0.1767 and 1791 for a while and because of the proximity sensor problem I kept pressing the mute and other buttons while holding up the phone to my face during a call.

I use 10.2.1.1055 on my z30 now and it seems to have resoved the issue.

Nothing to do with doom or any game( as I don't have any of the mentioned) . Judging from the comments, one thing in common is10.2.0.429, I believe. Like someone said above, probably has something to do with carrier push and BlackBerry is aware. I called Bell and they patched me through to BlackBerry. BlackBerry said in order to escalate, I would have to reinstall OS through BlackBerry Link before they could take it any further... doing that now.

Looks like my initial though was right based on the posts. Everyone is on the official Os and updated on the release date. There are a few possibilities:

1) timed glitch, it reached a certain date and stopped. The (good?) thing about this is that it might also fix itself over time... (hopefully) everyone should definitely try the fix a few pages before (changing the date manually then setting to auto) and post their results.

2) BlackBerry maaay release a patch (we can hope) that will fix this... but of course I'm sure our friends in the US will have to wait a few months for the patch (I'm sorry, I had to)

I haven't seen anyone with this problem running the leaked OS so the bug is either only present on that version OR it is on this one and it hasn't hit the right time yet...really hope it's the first... lol

Few questions:

1) is it only z10 and z30? No Q models?

2) does the time change fix work?

3) has anyone wiped the device and restore settings and have it happen again?
