Since I upgraded my z10 to 10.2.1, when I reply to a group text message, an individual text message is sent to each person on the thread instead of a single message to the group. When someone replies to my the message only I get it. This is very annoying.

Is there anyway to fix this?

    I have a T-Mobile USA BB Z10 running OS 10.2.1.2156.

    Thanks,
    AK

This was the case for me when I was on a leaked OS, but ever since I switched to an official OS, they began working normally. Good luck.

I am not using a leaked OS. I might have to if I can't get this issue resolved.

I have the same issues with a Q10 with T-Mobile. I spoke with someone today who said they were aware of the issues but probably not going to fix them as tmobile has severed links with blackberry.

Did you start the group chat? If so, when you set it up you forgot to check the box that says "Enable Group Chat". It's not the phone or the OS, it is user error.

How is that done? If i go to compose text messages. add the recipients, write the text, and when i click on 3 dots, i don't see the "enable group chat" option. I can "name" the chat, "clear" the chat, but not enable group chat feature...

Do you mind explaining in which menu one would find the "enable group chat" toggle? I believe I'm having the same issue.

    Thanks

Go into your text app. Add the individuals you want to text. Just below where you add your contacts name an option appears to enable. Just select the box. Don't use the group chat option. Just start adding names to your text address box.

In SMS, if you add more recipient there should be an option to make a group message.

I am on the Q10 using TMO .228. I don't have that option. What OS are you running kabayan?

Don't go into group texts, just go into your normal text message app. Start adding contacts in the "to" line. It will show up as soon as you add the second person

yup...i go to text app...compose...then add recipients in the "to" field....nothing....I'm on TMO .2228. Could this be a carrier thing? or a Q10 bug?

By the way, even when I was on earlier 10.2.1 builds, i noticed this already. However, there were group chats where i was included that enabled me to reply to the group chat, not to the individual texter and there were instances also that individual texters were replying to me and not to the group....in those instances, i was not the initiator of the group chat.

I used an app "group sender" prior to the OS allowing it. It worked good other than I keep getting a message saying I've reached the maximum recipients. Both app and OS give that to me. Appear 20 is the max in a group. Anyone confirm or deny this?

    I'm on Z10STL100-2/10.2.1.2141

    I don't have a Q so I can't say if it's a device functionality problem.

Can anyone help with this? What if you don't initiate the group message? Can you ensure it replies as part of the group?

If they select or send it as a group, I think you can reply to either the group or individual.
