I have recently upgraded my BB link on my mac computer to the latest version. Prior to doing so I had no problems with remote access to my computer via my Z10. Now all I get on my Z10 is the spinning blue circle for about a minute and then nothing shows up. Have reinstalled BB link, rebooted my computer and Z10 but still nothing. Anyone else have this problem or know a fix?
    Thanks,
    Jay

First things first, did you check if you the folder(s) you are sharing with your Z10 are selected in BB Link?

Yep that's the obvious thing. I actually removed them all and re added them plus extras... still nothing...

Probably just the frustration setting in, one can hope.

In any event, OP, you mentioned the blue spinning circle so I figure you're on 10.1, so I'm assuming you're not on a new leak? But we won't know for sure, can you give us more info about your device (model type i.e. STL100-1/2/3/4), carrier (important for Verizon users like me) and whether you've recently updated your OS as well (for example, are you on a recent MR release with a 10.1.0.4xxx OS version, and through a carrier-pushed update or installed yourself.)

I do remember that a certain version of link caused issues for users with RFA, and I think the .32 version was best build for RFA. Don't quote me on that, though.

Yes some frustration is there. Sorry, did not mean to be rude. I came from apple to try out the BlackBerry 10 experience and really enjoy the OS, just some things are frustrating that they work then don't work. ...

I'm on 10.1.0.4181 carrier released (rogers in Canada) over the air update and stl-100-3. Have never loaded any leaked versions... not that savvy and don't have a PC.

Not sure if this will do it for you, but had the blue circle blank the other day, went into Settings, Media Sharing, turned Share music, pictures and videos all 'off', worked fine after that. Not sure of the connection there, but that did it here.

Also try to turn your mass usb off under settings and then storage. Should be all the way to bottom. It could be that when you connect your phone it turns it into a mass usb and that's why it's not picking it up.

You'll learn "Apple just works" but "BlackBerry makes you work". LOL. Just a wee bit of humour.

No problem, and sorry that didn't work. Try going into your network connections and turning off your mobile network, wifi on, and see if that'll work. Of course, that's after trying madindian's link, and if that didn't work

Also, try waiting at least 6 minutes before trying remote access again after each effort to fix it. In addition:

Ensure your BBID in Link is matching that on your device in Settings, 'About'.
Sign in and out of your BBID in BB Link, refresh devices in Link, uncheck and check your device in remote access in Link settings.

I am also having this issue accessing over the cellular network. It seems that when I am on a wi-fi network I can see my remote files (even though the computer is on a different network).
I have confirmed that the "Use Cellular Network" option is checked. I have tried to toggle it off & on also.

Oh really? So you can get direct access to your home computer's file system from anywhere in the world with Apple devices without any jail breaking or installing and configuration of apps? I wasn't aware of that.

Sorry, I saw the rebooted computer but didn't see the Z10 part.
This probably won't help, but it is how I solved my problem. :
If you do reboot your Z10 make sure the computer is already up and running for a few minutes. Then reboot your Z10 and try to connect.

Not exactly what he was referring to. I'm in love with RFA and all the new features BBRY is bringing with BB10, but let's be honest here, you put an iPhone down side-by-side with a Z10 and the average layperson will find it much simpler to handle the Apple device. But remember, simpler isn't always better.
